What People are saying

as a restaurant

libelle622on 13/10/2017 12:52

again, visiting on a non inclusive night from Neilson. We were staying 2 weeks and came here 3 times.

Good food. Really nice pizza. Good fish, cooked whichever way you wanted, whatever sauce you wanted.

i agree with a previous reviewer on the mossies.

Fine, but wouldn't rush back

SuzyQ001on 02/10/2017 22:48

Like many others, I ate here on a 'non-inclusive' night, from the Neilson resort.

The waitress service was good. My starter was so-so. I went for prawns, thinking that they would be fresh and local. They were far from special and I'm pretty sure were out of a pack from the freezer. However, my beef and peppercorn sauce main was delicious.

Our night here was early on in our fortnight's holiday. Though the evening was fine, and the restaurant was very convenient, we were not tempted back.

Stayed here and ate here for two nights. Visiting my daughter at Neilson Resort.

The first night I didn't get any sleep until 3.30am! There was a very rude/arrogant guest who made it impossible for anyone to sleep. Shouting and talking very loud! Surely there must be a quiet night policy! The owners didn't seem to bother. Of course I understood that it was a restaurant and that the Italians don't go to bed until the early hours, but 3.30am! Ridiculous. No-one spoke good English, even the owners, and yes the lady with the two tone hair was very indifferent/rude. I'm not sure that Sardinia is very English friendly! The room itself was very adequate, (the bed was not comfortable though)and the air con made it pleasant. Without it, I would have fried! Views over the sea were amazing from the air conditioned restaurant at the top of the hill. Very very steep hill from the sea which took some getting used to. Would definitely recommend a car hire if coming to Sardinia. Breakfast at the hotel was not what we expect, but then again we are in Italy! Egg cups were found but NO eggs! No bread/toast. And, how on earth do people eat CAKE for breakfast! My daughter and I ate dinner two evenings and it was very nice food. They did us a carbonara which is not on the menu but you can ask for it. All in all if you like authentic Italian and are prepared for little English and the very Italian experience, then Sardinia is for you. Otherwise go somewhere else! I wouldn't say Sardinia is pretty, and very hilly! Very nice waitress who tried her very best to speak English, as we tried to speak Italian! Yes, take insect repellent as I came home with more mossi bites than hot dinners! All in all a very "Italian" experience. My daughter has been working there for five months and has enjoyed it, (in the resort complex) but in my opinion Sardinia takes some getting used to. They sleep every afternoon and buses are few and far between to get anywhere near a decent shop. My daughter walks 20 minutes to a shop for supplies! Not sure about this hotel to stay but would recommend it as a restaurant if you were staying at the Neilson complex down the hill.

Good food in pleasant setting

The main plus of the restaurant is that it is an easy walk from the Neilson resort. It serves good pizza and risottos in a lovely courtyard. Inside there are great views over the bay. The prices are reasonable.

Nice Resturant, but let down by some staff

We enjoyed 3 meals here during our stay at another place locally. The food was good and reasonable value, but the service was variable. For the most part, the staff were helpful, but one waitress (lady with two tone hair colour - maybe the head waiter) was very indifferent, bordering on rude. The outside dining terrace is nice, but avoid tables at the back near the potted plants as it's a mosquito haunt!
