Went on Holiday here with my partner end of September/ beginning of October and it was delightful. Anna on the front desk was extremely pleasant and helpful. Room was clean, spacious and easily accessible.
The room itself was a great size with desk, chair and TV, two bedside tables there was a huge wardrobe and spacious en suite with a massive balcony (seriously it was huge).
We were here on an all inclusive holiday and they really mean it. The bar had quite the selection of drinks included (my favourite being the San Francisco, such a generous portion of rum in every drink) there were snacks available twice a day between meals (a help yourself affair)
The restaurant was lovely, sea views with breakfast (CHECK) As many servings as you want with a mix of whatever you fancy. Cake and hazelnut spread for breakfast or a full English or yogurt and fruit. A variety of fruit juices and hot drinks. Alcohol in the restaurant for self helping during Lunch and Dinner.
The sheer range of food on offer over the course of a week was staggering, we had venison, steak, massive ribs, pasta, the BEST VEGETABLE LASAGNA of my life (and I'm no vegetarian)
The dessert bar was just beyond me (I was having cake at least three times a day) the bread pudding was simply amazing as well as the chocolate mousse and the lemon meringue well lets just say I had to send my partner back for more in case I started getting funny looks and still there was a variety of gummies on selection as you left.
Tables were cleared and cleaned immediately and the staff always happy to help, test your Spanish and just generally very friendly.
The pool side is always clean, we personally didn't have much trouble getting loungers but it was near the end of the season.
The beach admittedly is 200 steps away so there is free exercise for you at any opportunity but the is a road decline you can take if the steps aren't for you. The beach is not with the resort so you will be charged for the loungers there, but its a beautiful beach.
There is a bus stop right outside of the resort and bus timetables available from reception with advice on getting to Mahon and Citudella. Also when receiving the timetables you are told which days the markets are on and where they are.
It was a brilliant holiday and I wish we had stayed longer, my one and only niggle is that as a couple we had to push the two singe beds together, and they had a tendency to slide apart (I used my suitcase to wedge between spacious wardrobe and bedside table to stop movement) However I would honestly say this was minor as it meant so bed hogging or duvet stealing in progress all through the night, resulting in a better kip.
It's about the people...

My wife and I booked a last minute 'late' booking (October) at this Hotel, mainly just for an 'end of summer' break.
We had friends who lived nearby, and though we had visited the Island before, we had never been to Cala'n Porter...
On arrival we were very impressed by the Hotels pool, and outstanding views of the sea and the bay.
Our room on the 2nd floor wasn't anything special, but with nice wide beds, plenty of wardrobes, a nice balcony, plus a powerful, hot shower, what else did we need.
The restaurant also had magnificent views out over the sea, the food, (self service) was of a reasonable quality, with plenty of choice, indeed, the puddings, (including ice creams) were better, than we had experienced at a higher rated hotel in the canaries, (earlier in the year).
On reflection however, what was really impressed us most was the staff, very friendly, with a genuine interest in making our stay, a memorable experience, which they certainly did, so Hotel Playa Azul....Well Done...

I went to this hotel with my son and two grand children, to get them away and give them a break from boring weekends at home. We found a wonderful hotel with the best staff you could get, a great location with wonderful food and a top class room. The view from my room was the pool area and the beach. A short walk down 200 steps onto the beach and a nature area kept me in top form for the week.
Very much needed chill out holiday!

Can not fault this hotel at all.Every thing about it was excellent. All staff very friendly. .Fantastic food, Every part of the hotel was spotlessly clean. Great pools, one of them suitable for the young children.. Took the bus to Mahon on a couple of days, well worth a visit, lovely city . The resort its self was quiet as the season was coming to an end, we just wanted a good rest and some sun , which we got, The weather was great. I am sure in the summer the resort will be much busier, with all the bars , restaurants and shops open.
