We traveled to Campeche for a quick weekend trip to visit Calakmul and Edzna. I chose HPC to enjoy the Parque Principal rather then join the masses along the waterfront . We were very happy with our selection ... our room was clean and the A/C was almost too cool, the staff were friendly and helpful ... and the location is central to both the center of Campeche and the malecon. Visiting Edzna is an easy day trip, however plan for a very long day when going to Calakmul. Both sites are amazing!

From the moment we arrived, we loved it. The pool area outside was tiny but the inside was drop dead gorgeous luxury. No wonder it was full of Italians. It was so styly, elegant and luxurious; Italian marble, lights and beautiful furniture. Breakfast buffet was really good. Coffee though just ok. Our suite was enormous. Highly recommend and I can't wait to stay in the Hotel Plaza Athenee in Paris and they have a hotel in New York city too and all over.

We only stayed one night in the Plaza Campeche. We chose the hotel based on its close proximity to the beautiful centro historico of Campeche as well as ease of parking.
Staff were polite and helpful and our room was lovely. We had booked a room with the balcony and whilst there is no form of privacy on the balcony it is a great place to lie out and listen to the sounds of Campeche (and dry your washing ☺).
We walked into the Centro Historico for dinner and to watch the free sound and light show. This is on every night from 8pm and well worth trying to catch if you can.
On the road in to the Plaza Campeche are numerous fast food and restaurant chains, as well as a superwalmart if you need supplies.
The room does not have a fridge but they happily fill the ice bucket provided. We did not eat in the restaurant but it appeared popular although it was evident the hotel is also a staple for tour groups.
All in all, a nice place for a short term stay.

Lovely central hotel within the old town walls. Nice clean rooms and very friendly service. In easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was so, so. They kept the toast in a heated bowl which made it soggy and the pancakes were like cardboard. As it was my son's birthday they brought him a piece of cake with a candle to the breakfast table, which was very kind.

Not the best in town, but very good. The rooms are big and well equiped. Very close to the main plaza, just a short walk of about three blocks. The service was very good. Some of the rooms looks to the plaza in front of the hotel.
