The plus points of this hotel are many. It is spotlessly clean and the pool is fabulous after a long hot day sightseeing. There are not many staff but to be honest they don't need more. The staff are very friendly, helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was ample and the rooms were clean and the shower was the best I have experienced in a three star, I mention this as it is essential to me to be able to take a good shower after a long hot day. We used the train service a lot either the circumvensia is one way of travelling, like a subway or metro link or the mainline trentalia, both are brilliant and run to time, make sure you spend time getting a timetable to save waiting around for trains, these trains are unbelievably cheap, better than taxis but quick and efficient, both lines are about 15 mins walk from hotel. Pompeii is not that close to the hotel unless you have a car..This hotel is very good value for money and if you get a chance go and eat at Antichi Sapori two minutes from the hotel, the food is fantastic and the bill for three people including two drinks each was only 45 euros, we thought it was an error but it wasn't. However avoid my love pizzeria, the young staff are rude and ignorant although the older more experienced staff are nice I would mention the area of Scafati and Naples in general is dirty and full of litter, quite appallingly so, I was a bit worried about the safety of the area but in due course this was unfounded and the people were welcoming,helpful and pleasant. Our onward travel was by train to Pisa and the owner of the hotel took us to the station and would not take the fare due, so thank you for a pleasant stay.

On our way to visit Pompei coming from Rome it was just a 1 night stay. But can say that it was a nice clean and quiet hotel to stay in. Good clean beds and bathroom. There is nothing to do in the vincinity of the hotel unless you have a car to drive you to the city center. parking is on the hotel terrain itself and the gates are closed at night, so your car is secure.

The hotel is cute and easy to find. The staff are friendly and helpful; the rooms are clean and well-equipped. Excellent trips and information available for tourists wishing to see Pompeii and other tourist spots.

Hotel Pompei is not in Pompei proper, but rather a 10 minute drive away in nearby Scafati. Scafati is a rundown suburb of Napoli – itself a rather rundown city. To be honest, the surroundings of the hotel are quite appalling. The first impressions upon arrival to the hotel are not the best either, but the rooms are kept to a higher standard than the reception area would suggest.
The pool is adjacent to the main street, so it’s not the best outlook from there. But it’s there if you care to take a dip. The poolside offers basic food (this being Napoli, please read pizza) at inexpensive prices.
Antichi Sapori, the restaurant a few hundred meters from the hotel, is a good place to eat.
Don’t count on proper directions in this area – the signs are mostly confusing and a GPS is vital.
Pompei was a disappointment to me having visited the Roman ruins adjacent to the Colosseo, but maybe it will cater to some – it surely does. Keep in mind that visiting Pompei is free on the first Sunday of the month.
This place fulfils it apparent value proposition: an inexpensive option that is central for those visiting Pompei.

The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable with a nice view of the landscape and mountains. The friendly and cheerful breakfast staff served the daily breakfast which was very good with a nice selection of food to choose from, a great cappuccino to start the day. The air conditioning in the room helped me to sleep better with the warm July weather. The dinner selection was tasty and convenient as I was too tired to go to a restaurant to eat. I was not able to enjoy and relax at the swimming pool, maybe next time. The hotel staff were positive,attentive,and very helpful to my travel needs such as providing maps and information for Scafati, Pompeii, Naples, bus and train transportation, a free shuttle service to and from the train station, and arranged with a hotel staff member personal transportation for a reasonable price to the municipal buildings of Scafati and a neighboring town to obtain more information about my Italian family history. The hotel staff made my 3-day visit very enjoyable and productive.
