We have stayed here several times, and recommend all our friends to stay here as well.
It's all about the details. Such as the fresh pot of coffee when you wake up in the morning, the safe parking, the friendly and always attentive staff, the very comfortable rooms with the little seating areas outside and not least de the lovely owners. Thank you Volker and Minerva!

The stay at Posada Nena worked out perfectly for us. Set up is practical and decorative with everything you need for basic comfort in this climate. We especially appreciated promptness how super friendly staff attended to us and our queries, cleanliness, tasty breakfast, location in walking distance to supermarket, bank, bus stop and my daughter's new school. Garden and yoga space on balcony with view of mountains were lovely in this urban area. The owner was exceptional in answering my emails, arranging taxi or tours and helping out with my lack of Spanish.

I have been staying at Posada Nena several times now. I live in Costa Rica, but have family and friends coming to visit quite often and Posada Nena has become my prefered place to stay when we are in the San Jose area.
What I love about the place is that it has a relaxed atmosphere and great hospitality. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious, but even more important to me is the small outdoors areas, here you can sit outside and relax with your morning coffee. They have put thought to details, like just allways having freshly brewed coffee available.
The owners and their staff are also very friendly, and make you feel at home right away.
You will not regret staying here!

This place is awesome. The whole team is so friendly and helpful. And the place is the complete opposite of a boring institutional hotel. The rooms are comfortable, the sitting areas and the bar are very inviting, and the garden area is a great place to watch hummingbirds. And easy walking distance to a range of shops and restaurants. They'll arrange any kind of logistics you need as well - a car, day trips or more. This was our second time at Posada Nena; would definitely return.

Cosy little hotel in a quiet road in Santa Ana. 20 minutes form the airport and 25 minutes to San José (in quiet trafic) The owner Volker is a nice german guy how knows the country well and can give goot tips and can organize very good trips to Poas Vulkano, coffee farms the Tortugero national park etc. If you have a rental car without navigation he rents out navigation systems for less costs than the rental car companies.
We had a good size room with a huge bathroom! Everything was nice an clean. Good breakfast with fresh fruits and juices! Small pool in a nice garden and a hang out area on first floor with hammocks. There is a beautiful bar you can have a drink at night. We had dinner on one eavening - that was very good.
The area is safe an quiet and there is a good restaurant (Doris) for steaks in walking distance. The stuff is very nice and we had good talks with them.
We will be back next year! Thanks for everything!
