OK but overpriced and not very friendly

Had originally booked a guesthouse in the centre of Pushkar for the festival but they had doubled the price after having my booking for over 2 month (thanks for nothing Hotel Rising Star).
I booked the Prem Villas about a month before the festival/camel fair and the price was the most I paid anywhere in my 5 weeks in India at about 11,000 rupees for 3 nights.
The hotel had a beautiful view over the local mountains which I am told are called the Snake Mountains. The room was ok and quite spacious but nothing spectular and I had better rooms for half that price in India. The hotel is a little way out of central Pushkar but not a terrible walk. Ate in the restaurant once and the food was very bland. Hotel also shuts the gate at 11pm which means that you could really enjoy the festivities into the earlier hours. Wifi was the usual Indian patchy and not very strong. The owner was very keen that I photographed his hotel for his website but I have to say I didnt find him friendly.
If you go get a good price on the room or you'll be dissappointed.
Nice place but quite dusty

Prem villas is a cosy little place with nice rooms for short trip. However, the room we got was rather dusty. All the necessary amenities were also not provided (no toilet roll, aircon not working, no drinking water, Wi-Fi didn't reach the room). The place is also quite a distance walk from the market place (where the temples and street is located). The villa is obviously short of staff! The person attending to all our needs is just 1 person! He scans our passport, check us in, walk us to the room, get us our extra bed, check the switch, etc. In the morning, we waited for 30mins for breakfast to be served (even though we were assured 7.30am) - we had to rush to another area early. Hot shower did not last long enough for 3 person. Other than the above mentioned, the bed felt uncleaned and we were scratching ourselves covered in the blanket. If the quality of the room could be improved upon, it is a rather cozy and cute guest house to stay in. The night reception staff was also really nice and polite.
Beautiful hotel facing the lush green hillside of Pushkar

Although this hotel is located at quite a distance from the Pushkar Lake and the main thoroughfare of the area and inside an almost deserted lane, the beautifully maintained property compensates it with an extensive manicured garden, exquisite paintings all over the walls, clean, spacious and comfortable rooms, breathtaking views of the surrounding hillside. However, when I checked-in there was only a single staff who was handling everything from the front desk and guest reception to cooking and cleaning and carrying luggage up to the room, which definitely affected the quality of service. Neither the television nor the telephone worked in my room, so I had to go downstairs to the front desk from my 1st-floor room every time I needed something from them, like water bottles or food. The placement of bathroom cleaning equipment on the cloth hanger and the sad condition of faucets and other bathroom fittings was another letdown for me. I guess foreign tourists are treated better, but I would still recommend the place if only for the decor and the views, especially from the rooftop.
Super

Lovely stay at Prem Villas! Our travel group have a great stay in friendly atmosphere, with ac rooms decorated with Indian style paintings, organic food from the local vegetable garden, we loved it, we were warmly welcomed by the gentle Pawan and his staff. ❤
