our three night stay on the amalfi coast was made very enjoyable in our stay at the hotel prestige,
yes it is up in the hill overlooking sorrento,
great views across the sea and bay of naples,
no problem with getting into sorrento as courtesy bus,which was free,on hand at various times to take you into town and back,we ate at restaurant twice and found it to have a varied and reasonable cost menu,
the staff throughout were very helpful and pleasant,
all spoke good english,
i do apologise to them for my lacking italian!
hotel quiet with nice pool and relaxing area,
option of getting some trips in with their resident drivers for a trip down the amalfi coast at a reasoanble cost which was sorted out at reception,
guiseppe was our driver,really nice and intersting guy,good driver,loads of info,
top tip if you want a day out as a group is to get him to take you

Nice hotel but needs updating and fa-a-a-r from town.

We had a few surprises with this hotel. First was how far it was from the city center. I don't recall any mention of this on the hotel's web site. It's about a 20 minute drive. We had a car and they do offer shuttle bus service to the center of Sorrento. But I was very disappointed that we weren't closer to the city.

The other surprise was the room--small and in need of updating. I was so disappointed when we walked into the room. We were in Italy for 18 days and stayed at 8 hotels, all of which I'd booked myself. This was the only one where I was in tears when I saw the room. It was clean, and we had a large balcony with nice views of the city far below and Vesuvius.But it just wasn't up to par with all the others we'd stayed in.

Having said all this, I do want to commend the front desk staff. They were extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Breakfast was good and we ate at the hotel restaurant for dinner one night, which was nice.

Quaint attention to detail. This hotel couldn’t have cared more for its guests!

The hotel is quaint and thoughtfully detailed both in the quest rooms and public spaces. There are two main floors for guests above the ground floor. Rooms facing the front have spectacular views of the island of Capri and if you can afford the small additional cost for the top floor, you have a roof terrace rather than a balcony and a clearer view of the coast above the small car park and a twisting mountain road, the noise of which can be intrusive in peak periods; not because of the volume of traffic but more to with the speed in which local drivers take the bends.That said, we didn’t opt for the top floor and we had a fantastic time at ‘The Hotel Prestige.’ The rooms are comfortable. The staff were friendly, extremely professional and although this for them was the last week of what I imagine was a very busy season, they couldn’t have been more helpful. Don’t let the 30 minute drive from Sorrento put you off! The free and efficient shuttle service makes this hardly noticeable. Please be advised that to hire a car on the Almalfi coast requires nerves of steel even at this quieter end of the season. After a few days, we abandoned the car in favour of organised trips, for which the hotel provided luxury cars or minibuses driven by knowledgeable guides. Even though we don’t often opt for organised tours , preferring to travel independently, there was an impressive range of places to visit and they were reasonably priced. Basic pack lunches were provided, but there was a degree of flexibility and we tended to eat out at restaurants. When eating in the hotel, the prices were very reasonable and when the bill was presented, the hotel seemed very liberal with unexpected discounts. The food was beautifully cooked with many freshly prepared pasta dishes. The choices on the menu were somewhat limited, leading to the conclusion that perhaps a pizza oven would be of benefit. We loved this hotel and will certainly find an opportunity to revisit it again.

Lovely hotel. Room was nice and clean with fab views out over the bay and Vesuvius. The staff are the most pleasant, helpful and hard working team - nothing was too much! Great restaurant, great food and amazing service! Giuseppe took us to the Amalfi coast! This was an awesome way to see and experience Italy through the eyes of a local. Giuseppe was informative, friendly and kept the tour fun for all!! Would definitely recommend this tour to visitors. Thanks Giuseppe :) We also booked a private tour to Pompeii and the Vesuvius with Giovanna. It was a fantastic day. Giovanna is the highlight of this tour, and is super funny! Thank you again Giovanna, we hope to see you again one day! We so appreciate your kindness and passion. We will definitely return to Sorrento and there is no other hotel I would consider booking. We will be back!

Excellent accommodation

We stayed in the villa which is attached to the hotel. The staff couldn’t have made the stay more special. They went that extra mile and accommodated our needs. We loved our stay here and will definitely be visiting again. Breakfast was excellent too! The trip to Sorrento by bus wasn’t a hassle either as the drivers were very helpful. Great place to stay with beautiful views 😊thanks to the staff 😊
