If only the inside could be as good as the outside! Nice building of a local architecture with great garden! You have a very nice impression looking around the lobby too! And then it all changes when you get to the room! Very old rooms with a TV set of the '50s (only with colour which don't really see as the reception is really bad)! One A/C unit in a two rooms space, old refrigeration in the closet warming up the whole place.
However at a very god price with a nice breakfast.
perfect base for a peaceful holiday

The hotel is very well maintained - much more than basic but not too many frills (not that they were needed.) The gardens and pool were very well kept. We spent a couple of days round the pool and for most of the time were the only people there. The pool is probably 10 metres so big enough for a proper swim. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the centre of the town - almost at the end of the main road. It is very quiet without being out of the way. The room was very clean and towels changed every day. The tv only has local channels but this was not a problem as there is no need to watch tv in such a beautiful setting. The breakfast was good, a fresh buffet with meats, cooked eggs and fruit. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is good wifi throughout the hotel and in the grounds. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel but the menu looked very good and reasonable value.
In my opinion it is the best hotel in Skopelos Town!

Have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel after reading some of the reviews on Trip Advisor. I initially booked it because it was 4* and the location looked good but I hadn’t travelled to Skopelos before so really didn’t know what to expect! Used to travelling to New York each year for holiday so this was always going to be a little bit different. Well I am now the best husband in the world because this place was an absolute delight and my wife and I had the best 7 days here we could have hoped for. We had a sea view room overlooking the pool which was just gorgeous and I could not fault this hotel at all - I have stayed in many hotels through business travel over the years. I am an actuary and have travelled quite a bit with work (not that that matters).
So what were those reviews about? The staff were incredibly friendly. Greeted every morning with a weather report and banter around how they would hide my passport so we wouldn’t have to return home so soon. Breakfast was simple but delicious. I had fresh fried eggs every morning with fruit juice and coffee. Okay so I had to put my bread through the toasting machine 3 times but we don’t all like it burnt do we? Such a clean hotel so not sure where the comments about damp smells came from. We had fresh towels every day and the air con in the room was easy to work and did a great job on those hot evenings. I’m sure I read somewhere about the safes having the same code in each room. So funny as the concierge showed me how to set mine to whatever code I wanted as soon as we arrived there. The pool was clean and we spent every afternoon between 3 and 5 sunbathing by it eating grapes and other foods we had bought into the complex ourselves. The décor of the hotel is fabulous. Shiny floors throughout complimenting the traditional Greek furniture. I got a year’s worth of Facebook cover photos from selfies inside the hotel! Such a great place.
What makes this hotel so special however is definitely the location. In my opinion it is the best hotel in Skopelos town not just for décor and service but because it’s in the perfect place just at the end of the harbour. Just far enough away from the hustle and bustle (well there’s not really much hustle and bustle on the whole island but hopefully you get what I mean). We had a few windy days yet the secluded pool area remained free from wind and perfect for sunbathing. We went to Skopelos wanting a holiday free from silly drinking games, cheap entertainment and people trying to pull us into bars. Skopelos definitely ticks those boxes and this delightful little paradise - The Prince Stafilos just made that relaxing experience a whole lot better. We shall be returning in 2017 and I will definitely be staying here.
Finally I would like to point out that this is my first ever review for a hotel I have stayed in. Normally too busy to bother but I felt compelled to mention the Stafilos as we had such a wonderful time there.
Traditional Hotel

First of all, I have to say that the hotel has a great location on Skopelos Town, near all the great taverns and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful ( far for the street noise because it has a wonderful garden in front; most people accommodated here are elderly people ). I gave it a 4 stars because the buffet breakfast was quite good but not varied, it's the same every day and also you have to avoid the triple rooms at the top floor because they have only a small window with bars and you'll feel like in prison. You should definitely book the sea view doubles with balcony .
The boutique hotel in town of Skopelos
TheFoodJokey on 05/08/2016 11:32
Is probably the oldest hotel in town.
With typical mountain Pelion architecture.
It has a great collection of traditional furniture and ornaments inside.
That gives the sense of staying in a museum, therefore it could be called a boutique hotel.
The surrounding is very green and well gardened
The kitchen offers home-style cuizine
