Propellen is very likely the best place to stay in Billund. The new rooms are up to date and well equipped, the staff is friendly and accommodating and the restaurant serves good food and wine. Overall Propellen is probably the best value for money Billund can offer.

Our family of three stayed at the Hotel Propellen for three nights in order to visit Legoland. We arrived at 10 AM and while we couldn’t yet officially check-in, they were fine with us parking there so we could walk to Legoland. It’s a short, easy walk and saves you both the cost and hassle of paid parking. I didn’t see any other hotels on the way, besides the Legoland Hotel, so as best as I could tell, it’s the closest to the park without staying at Legoland.
Our room was a “triple” which was a double bed plus a separate twin bed nestled under the slanted roof. Our son liked sleeping under the slanted roof, he said it was like being on a ship. The room had charming décor with a large propeller motif on the wall.
There is a nice pool in the basement plus a small kids pool next to it. There are also hot tubs but you have to pay to use those. You’ll need to stop by the desk to get pool towels and while there, be sure to ask how to get to the pool as it’s a bit tricky (access is via locker rooms) – the whole hotel actually is quite a maze. We walked by the playrooms and while we didn’t use them ourselves, they looked quite nice.
Breakfast was sufficient though not particularly impressive. It’s in a back section of the restaurant and includes scrambled eggs, yogurt, smoothies, bread, and cereal. Theoretically there is an espresso machine but it never had milk in it and so it was really just a coffee machine.
We’d planned to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant but one look at the menu changed that – it’s quite pricey and for some reason, overly fancy food. When I am on a family vacation at a theme park, I don’t need duck confit and the like. Instead, we ended up at a pizza place both evenings and spent less on our entire check than we would have paid for just one dish at the hotel.
Be aware that the hotel charges a fee in order to pay by credit card, a little frustrating when you are also being charged an exchange fee from your bank, but I guess it’s just the way it is.

Hotel was good enough. We had room on 2nd floor. I would recommend that. The airport is really close, that's good and bad cause you hear them take of and land very high. They stop around 22:30. I could see Lalandia from our room. So walking distance to Lalandia and LEGO land. They have indoor pool. Nothing fancy. Sauna to but not running when we where there :( Restaurant in the hotel was okey maybe 3+ service was good but one tall guy was bad. Breakfast nothing fancy. But it does the trick. Staff was good. Car parking at the hotel. I can recommend the hotel.

Convenient hotel in Billund, close to the airport.
It takes less than ten minutes, and cost 100DKK by taxi.
Equipped with a pool and a small fitness room.
Free WiFi
Good breakfast, nice choice of teas.

Very nice hotel, very clean. Godd thing is choice for dinner buffet or menu it's really good with kids, becouse adults can take from menu a kids from buffet every one is happy.
From legoland its 5 minutes by walk.
