Beautiful Hotel with all amenities you need, food is good (not great) and the views of the lagoon are stunning and service was superb
Only minor issue we had was that the lagoon room was right next to the restaurant, so we would listen to the restaurant music all day long while on our deck.
This is a hotel to stay in it and maybe take a few tours (which they will help you arrange), there is not much to do in the city

The hotel Location is nice, but we had some issues. They are building a new restaurant and this created some noise. The floor in the room was full of black lights g hair when we arrived. Also we had to kill 25 + mosquitoes first in the room after arrival. On the mosquito net on the ceiling of the bed there were lots of dead mosquitoes. The water in the shower came boiling hot for about 30 seconds and then when back to cold for the rest of the shower. The food at the restaurant was ok. The best part is the location and we made a boat trip on the lagoon which was great.

The highlight of our Mexican roadtrip. The scenary is stunning. The rooms are clean, spacious and nicely decorated. And the restaurant is perfect: great food and atmosphere. My kids enjoyed swimming in the fresh water of the lake, snorkkeling and relaxing in the hammocks. A perfect place to relax.

The lagoon is just beautiful, no noise, the colors are amazing and the prices for food/drink are awesome. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and willing to help. The rooms were cozy with all the amenities (no TV nor WiFi as it's really don't needed there).

While the hotel itself isnt incredible, it was very good. The room was of a good size and clean. We had a geat balcony overlooking the water - with a table, chairs and hammock. It was quiet, and we had a fridge and safe. The winner was the lcoation - right on the edge of the lagoon. We had a wonderful breeze at night. I loved sitting on the deck of the restaurant in the afternoon having a maragrita. There are lots of hammocks and water swings. We did a 3hr boat trip from the hotel's dock. It was a great way to spend an afternoon. I loved the grilled fish tacos in the restaurant. The breakfast was very good - I has a great fruit platter each day. It was a fairly easy taxi ride into/out of town. Cost was 60 pesos in July 2017. We travelled to Bacalar by bus - and found this very easy. We stayed 2 nights and would recommend a stay of 2-3 nights. I would love to visit again.
