Unusual but quite good.

Residence La Reunion is a decidedly different hotel, located less than a 15 minute walk (with luggage) from the Ravenna train station and convenient to all of Ravenna's most visited tourist sites. All the rooms are suites. Ours was a standard suite, consisting of a large kitchen (complete with couch) and an average-sized but comfortable bedroom. The are a few things to consider when staying here. Even after visiting the hotel's website and searching for it on Google Earth Street View, I was unsure as to what the hotel's front looked like: it took us a minute or two to locate the hotel when we arrived. The hotel shares a building with a number of small businesses and its entrance is found under a portico. Only a small yellow sign, attached to the wall marks its entrance. You enter through a large wooden door and, upon first arriving, there is a buzzer to the left of the door (upon registering, you will be provided with a key to the front door), Once you enter, there are a few short flights of steps to climb (the entrance to the hotel is on the left); a consideration if you have heavy luggage. The breakfast area is quite small but the food was excellent. All in all. once we had found our way to the front desk and made our way to our room, we were quite happy with our stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. One factor keeps me from rating this hotel as excellent. One of the ways I distinguish a three-star from a four-star hotel in the bathroom. Our bathroom had a small, corner shower stall: not uncommon in many European hotels. the shower is fine for an average-sized person such as myself, but I always wonder how a larger person would fit and turn around. Also, the hotel uses a combination dispenser for soap, shampoo, and conditioner instead of individual tubes with specific uses. Not a big deal, but not what I expect in a four star hotel. These are just "nit-picks" however. We were quite pleased with the hotel and recommend it for a stay in Ravenna.
Wonderful

We were away for the weekend and loved our stay. The residence is in the heart of Ravenna within walking distance of the main UNESCO sites and just a block from Dante’s tomb as well as the very informative and helpful Tourist Information Office. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Filippo, he even called us before we arrived to confirm details of our car and prepare the transit pass for us. If you have a car you need a transit/parking permit, the hotel is in limited traffic area and thus is the only way to go through. We parked easily a couple of blocks away in Piazza Garibaldi, but if you have heavy luggage this should be taken into consideration. The residence is in an old palace and there are some steps to negotiate to get to the reception and to the elevator, again not the best if you have walking difficulties or heavy luggage, though there is an ADA lift for the first ramp when you enter the building. We stayed on the Dante Alighieri suite on the first floor and there were a few more steps up and down through the garden. The apartment was nice and fully equipped to cook you own meals as well, it included a washing machine in the bathroom! The only issue is that the bedroom was facing the main street where there are a couple of restaurants and bars where people gather at night and it was pretty noisy until midnight. If not for this and all the extra steps I would have assigned five stars. Breakfast was nice, with lots of local products on offer, the room was tiny though and not easy to move around. Overall it was very enjoyable and we woukd stay here again if we come back to Ravenna.
Super place! Nice staff.
