I was there for just 1 night, had a good sleep en a really good diner. I didn't breakfast there because i had to leave before they started serving. The room is okay, but watch out for the slipperly floor in the bathroom! Kindly staff, a good place to spend the night.

This was my 2nd time staying here after 19 years! It was just as I remembered it and the restaurant was still great! Wi-Fi connection was great which is always a plus. This hotel is conveniently located for touring around South Holland Province. We stayed here to tour some genealogy sites in the neighboring towns as well as a trip to Kinderdijk for the windmills.

This hotel exists already for app.30 years and has an excellent restaurant and value for money prices. Menu changrs frequently and they have also blackboardspecials.New terrace overcovered and heated per 5 dec.2014.Nice bar with friendly staff and a variety of interesting hotelguests and locals.Good mixture. Our place to be.

Very nice, little family hotel. Rooms are clean and well equipped; spotless bathroom. Fast Wi-Fi connection. Food in the restaurant was just goergous, lovely salads (order goat cheese salad), meats, good wines. Friendly and helpfull staff. Nice breakfast: freshly squeezed orange juice and sufficient selection of continental food.
Hotel rooms are furnished in the contemporary style, while the restaurant and reception are more rustic and traditional. I liked this combination.
I spent only one night in the hotel, so I can't say more about location, but I found the hotel quiet and also there is a kind of the lagoon at the back of the hotel, so I could have a very nice, refreshing walk in the morning. Definitely I would stay in De Hoogt again.

Very disappointing experience.
I had a dodgy stomach after dinner the first night (which I put down to bad luck) but this recurred twice the following week whilst staying here in business. Flies around the restaurant and one waitress running around after us unfortunate and clearly (for the owner) irritating "tourists" who appeared only when some locals turned up in the restaurant.
In the morning, no water either from the shower or from the sink, I phoned reception and was told., "I can't help you, I'm not a plumber!" No apology and no follow-up,
Absolutely appalling hotel: don't bother with it. They don't want you or appear to be irritated by you in the summer - after all, there are so many other tourists (little did they know that I actually work nearby)
