We were fobbed off with this place because the hotel we had booked told us on the day we were supposed to stay that they would not be opening the restaurant and as we are on a motorcycle we need to stop , get off and then eat near to where we stay. So the owner of the hotel that had no food booked us here (shame as we had stayed with him before and his restaurant was excellent...). La Teete Noire is in the middle of town, but is old, the room had been redecorated but was still dark and a little cramped. The shower flooded the bathroom and was old. We were not inspired to eat here so walked to another restaurant in town that in itself was not great. The Tete Noire was a disappointment.

A beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown with an elevator. The rooms are very spacious, clean , beautiful and comfortable with a large bathroom for Europe. Even though you are right downtown, it is very quiet in the room and we felt right at home. Patrick and his wife run this hotel and are special and caring people and are very helpful with any questions we had.
We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the meals were very delicious. We started with their vegetable soup and salad and we loved them, homemade with great quality ingredients. Our fish and steak were so very good and their homemade apple pie is out of this world. Prices are very good. Breakfast is an incredible buffet with much variety.
When we return, we will stay here again.

If you are looking for a great family run hotel and restaurant in Autun, this is a great choice. The owner can also help you with the local wines and will order and have delivered to the hotel. The menu at the restaurant is excellent and has many regional specialities.

the dinner was really great (not cheap though). The breakfast was overpriced though, we have had much more voice for a much lower price.
The rooms are basic and the parking is pot luck but it is very central to a nice town

This hotel is located in the center of Autun. There is free parking available in the public lot next to the hotel. The town has some wonderful old buildings, a nice square and an impressive military academy. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and they have an elevator. The room was clean, and the beds were comfortable. As others have noted the furniture was cheap looking and the walls were badly marked on the lower half where people had banged their bags against them, giving the room a worn look. Perhaps a better paint that didn't mark so easily would help. The bathroom appeared to have been recently renovated and was a good size and clean and modern. The restaurant is the real star here. The food was very good and the owner went to a lot of trouble to accommodate my husband who was not feeling well even offering to bring him something light to eat in our room. I really enjoyed my meal. They have free wifi in the rooms. This is not a luxury hotel but it offers a comfortable nights sleep and nice bathroom and great food. I would recommend staying here..
