having to remove shoes immediately through the door was a pain, especially after walking from the station with a backpack; removing shoes seemed more important than hospitality. and, as the hotel wasn't spectacular, it seemed unnecessary. my room absolutely stank of cigarettes. there was no staircase, only a lift, also one of the lifts went only halfway up the building, very confusing. actually I hated this hotel. the bed was thankfully comfortable, also the ensuite shower and toilet.
