What People are saying

From a resident of Montreux. Comments on Sinatra’s Bar, and Management.

Reception: Excellent. Calm, professional, knowledgeable. Rapid. Dustin makes a very good impression among an excellent team.

Sinatra’s Bar: I visit every day May-October afternoon/evening (since 2010). The food is consistently excellent, and the Restaurant’s full menu available as well as an ambitious smaller menu.
The Sinatra’s staff and their supervisors are exceptional: highly trained, discrete, rapid, and attentive to clearing tables rapidly as well as providing quick, efficient service for taking/serving orders. Nelson, Alexandre, Pedro, Laura, Maximo, trainee Johanna (and any I may have missed!), with their seniors, are a seamless team. I cannot fault them.
However, the Management is unrealistic, every Summer, in scheduling only 2 staff, even when it is abundantly clear in advance that the double terrace will be full for hours. This is not only during the 3 week Jazz Festival, but from May to early October, and not only weekends, but every sunny day of the week.
Two wait staff, even as diligent as those mentioned, cannot cope with a constantly changing influx of guests at that many tables, but that is not their fault. Not infrequently I have seen guests occupy a table, and after waiting what seems to them too long, say in irritation: “Why aren’t there more staff? In a Five Star hotel?” Some leave without ordering. If Management thinks that a skeleton staff ratio can satisfy customer demand, it is a false economy. You lose guests, and see a high staff turnover of excellent waiters who are exhausted. I am surprised that Management has not pinpointed this manifestly poor commercial tactic of minimum staff whenever possible. It is a mistake.

Nice hotel, parking is a nightmare

mmurray12017on 15/06/2017 11:00

Had a nice stay here for 4 nights last week with my new wife. The hotel itself is very nice, a little old fashioned but I think that's a good thing. The location is pretty good as well, walking distance to the old town. The rooftop pool is a highlight! Unfortunately, the parking situation was a low-light. They only have 11 parking spaces and it's a busy area nearby. I spent 45 minutes driving around looking for parking and in the end had to pay 35 euro a day in the public car park across from the hotel. I don't understand why at least they couldn't strike a deal with the car park for a reduced rate. Lesson learned, if you have a car add 35 euro per day to your budget.

Great hotel, perfect location

I was really impressed with the hotel and facilities. The roof top pool and terrace are a great touch and perfect to catch the sun. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment on food but the cocktail I had was nice. It's the perfect distance from everything and far enough out of the way that you don't get the noise. We did ask at reception and they said to get breakfast in the room fill out the card in the room and hang on the door. It was my birthday so we wanted breakfast in bed and it never turned up. After no help from reception we had to get ready and go out so wasted a whole morning waiting for nothing. We put the do not disturb sign on for our last night so that we could have a lay in before checking out at 12 and the cleaners woke us up at 8am constantly trying to get in the room over and over and over relentlessly which was disappointing. Apart from that friendly staff and would definitely say it's 4 star.

Very good hotel!

Friendly staff. 5 minutes walking distance from free parking, or 2 minutes from pay parking. Free wifi. Pool. Excellent breakfast form 7:00 to 11:00 am. Nice rooms and bathroom plenty of amenities.

Fabulous

Have just stayed here for a three day break and it was wonderful. Though I was travelling solo I did book a double room as I like the space and I'm so glad I did as I got a great private terrace too. There is a lovely rooftop pool with an amazing view of the old town. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the buffet breakfast is excellent in a very nice dining room. The hotel is quite traditional but very relaxed and I would definitely stay here again. The only negative is I did leave a scarf and some glasses in my room which I emailed about and they said they would check with housekeeping, but I never heard anything back.
