Excellent service. Straight through on the phone. Very pleasant agent. Booked complicated transport very efficiently. Phoned before to wish us a happy trip and followed up afterwards. Would always book with them. No hassle at all!

They took us money twice in the affirmative credit, did not come back to us by e-mail back.
The rooms have an unpleasant smell, and a dirty blanket.
We had a bee nest above the window. not recommended

Five star for awsmmm location, great service, comfort, facilities, river facing and upgradation of our room at no extra cost.... Also had very good restaurants nearby at walking distance... Really deserve 5star....

We stayed at Satkar Residency Manali between 20-23 September. Actually initially we made a booking for 20-25 September but during the stay we changed our plans and we thought of covering Shimla as well and hotel management (Mr. Jitendra Chouhan, Manager) was kind enough to accept the change in dates.
Pros,
Nice rooms and hotel,
Good size comfortable rooms with all the required amenities (Also, AC is not required and room heater is available on request) offering the nice atmosphere and also they offer fantastic view, small river flows just outside which you can see from your hotel room window or balcony.
Lively place,
The place is lively with couple of convenience store, many small food joints offering good food, liquor store, tea shops etc. (At the same time place is peaceful without any chaos or rush). You can take a night walk along the small river as many of the places remain active till 11-11:30 PM.
Close to many places of interest
Near to the places like Hidamba temple, club house etc. Club house is just around the corners and offers many activities. Also in the river opposite you can do river crossing.
Good and polite staff,
The staff including manager Mr. Jitendra Chouhan is very active, polite, helpful and courteous. They will provide you any assistance which you will need.
Cons,
I found the food little bit expansive but at the same time the taste and quantity justifies the cost. Also rates are almost similar to nearby food places.
I will surely recommend this hotel and whenever I will take a next trip to Manali I will check this hotel first.

This hotel is located in "old" Manali just after the bridge over the beas river. The hotel is typical of the crop of hotels found all over Manali. It's basic with iffy wifi but the hot water works ... most of the time. Rooms are spacious but poorly appointed and often rudimentary fittings. Beds are medium firm and there is no lifts available. To get to the pedestrian walking street in "new" Manali is just a 100 rupee tuk tuk ride.
