Located within a kilometer from Railway Station, Hotel Sea Pearl offers a good stay for family.
Rooms are clean, staff is helpful. Nice south indian breakfast in the morning. It also has a restaurant. You can walk to the main road to catch a rickshaw to explore the city.

Photos are not a fair representation of the hotel it's almost a little run down.
First room we were given 101 was tiny, toilet was broken and bed was so soft it's was horrible.
After we complained they moved us into 102 that was far better much bigger and everything worked.
Breakfast was a joke, luke warm coffee and they only had 3 slices of bread, loads of Indian breakfasts but all I wanted was a couple of bits of toast luckily my girlfriend was happy to share.
So while it was cheapish it's a R60 journey to the ferry port, would I stay here again....NO.

"Its a beautiful place2stay with superscore for ambience, enriched modern rooms, maintenance and friendly staff (including d security guard) . Mr Arun and Mrs Neethu were exemplary in their dealings, flexible within their limits and made sure, our stay was without any hassles.
The cones where, the management is on a destructive path to limit this beautiful place to beer/ wine parlour. They have closed down the main entrance and now given a backdoor remote sized road entry where parkings is limited and having an SUV s a curse to cruise inside.
All my fellow guests were so happy to haves stayed here with heaps of positive memories and a small yet significant nightmare of narrow backdoor entry for vehicles. "

I visited this hotel on 1 April. I have booked the suit room. Our room no. 206. The excellent room with lot of space and with a good king size bed. It had a tea maker and mini bar. The mini bar without a bottle of water. The toilet is also good with the all basic toiletries.
We booked the room with breakfast. The break fast very bad with very little varieties.

First off, the staff were really sweet and helpful and friendly. Not in an ingratiating way that happens at many fancier hotels, but they just seemed genuinely interested in their guests being happy and comfortable. Food was excellent. Room was comfortable, with good AC and good Internet. They have a rooftop bar which sadly seems to be for men only, but we really enjoyed having this place as our home for several days. (It was enjoyable enough that we extended our stay both there and in Kollam in general.)
It's a little far from the center of town, though -- ends up as some long walks, though the walk to/from the beach is very quiet and picturesque.
