Very nice view from the room.the staff is very helpful and friendly.very nice location across dal lake. The front desk very helpful in recommending place to eat and for site seeing. Close to the heart of the city very highly recommend this place for family stay

Hotel Shahabbas is quaint, but kind of dated .. and its like stepping back into time. No complaint though on that score. Its an endearing experience to savour kashmir in its basic form All comforts are there,, some luxuries are missing .. Thats all..
kashmir has been in a time warp... Tourism has been slow,, influx of guests is a trickle with slow or no business, maintaining the hotel and its premises is a mammoth challenge.
And Shahabbas is a large property.
Location is wow.. bang opposite the Dal lake.. and right on the signature boulevard. . one can relax in the Small balcony space...just sit and take in the view of life moving about on Boulevard road ; The spirit and mood of kashmir unfolding as dawn breaks or as dusk gathers. bustling markets are close by ,, eateries are next door and strolling on the dal lake front is a luxury available till late hours
Perceiving the current situation in the valley ; getting this opportunity to stay safely in the heart of Srinagar was worth every penny spent. My group was fascinated.

Large open spaces outside , adequate parking area, a ( unkempt) garden. vast lobby and corridors decorated with ethnic kashmiri craft is quite delightful. the rooms are ok, a tad flashy with myraid color schemes and oddball wallpapers but still quite interesting.. Washrooms seem renovated with most mod-cons in place..
So infact there is not much to crib about . all the basic facilities were offered at surprisingly Budget prices .
Yeah,, the room service is a tad slow.. there is shortage of staff, limited options on room menu,, closed bar b que and the restaurant is shut ;; but the tourists must understand and empathize with the conditions under which the property is functioning Full marks to the staff for keeping the hotel in spic -span condition and cheering up to a brave front in face of the tourism adversities.

Despite the odds, me and my group were glad that we chose Hotel Shahabbas. Some frills were missing ,, but the warm welcome and kind hospitality made up for all that was short.

Shah Abbas hotel is centrally located opposite the Dal lake Ghat No 10. Rooms are thoughtfully designed to delight. Peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Rooms have been stylishly done with the latest furniture & interiors while keeping the traditional spirit of Kashmir alive in its very essence. Restaurant was closed for renovation. Only room service was available with price tag. LCD's are fitted in every room. Only two tiny soaps and Shampoo pouch are placed in the washrooms. No mineral water bottle and nothing else. Simple hotel. However the behaviour of Manager Mr. Zillani is praiseworthy. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel. .

Cons: dal lake facing room with balcony, good location, supporting staffs
Pros: rooms are small, balcony is too small and dirty, toilet unclean, blankets are poor..Carpets are torn...Hot water was interrupted..Door lock was not working..

I have been there with my family June 2016 ... I would say good location exactly oposite to Daal lake .. rooms are good but need maintenance... no good kitchen water dropping from roof in kitchen and in few rooms if get renovated then I would give 5 star
