Week at Stella Maris Hotel in Pareti (Capoliveri, LI)
DJGiapon 15/06/2014 17:28Wonderful Location, just in front of the see with a number of rooms with direct access to the seaside and the rest a few meters away, both on the back or on the first floor ... same view from the nice restaurant. Staff people are not so "friendly", and rooms clearly need some refurbishing ... anyway the position in front of the sea is really wonderful.
Chose rooms wisely
Danny Son 04/08/2012 20:58Typical small beach front hotel, very good location as the beach is right outside the front door. Rooms are adequate, some fairly large too. We chose half board (Breakfast and dinner). Breakfast is quite varied with mainly continental menu. The dinner menu allows to choose from at least 4 different dishes per course. A very good system they have in place is the ability to swap your dinner with lunch whenever you want in case you wish to dine out.
Free WIFI, but only in the lobby, so there is usually a concertration of cybernauts crammed in there.
One thing to be aware of is that there is one room in the hotel which is advertised as family room, since it has a main bedroom, with bathroom and another connecting room (for the kids). We were given it first and were appalled by the general condition of the room, alot of dust (to which my children were allergic) and ants crawling over the beds. The general condition of the room was pretty bad ,also with paint chipping away, external wiring, and a very loud airconditioner, which didn't even work very well. The thermostat had no control over it.
General cleaniless of the hotels public areas can really be improved.
The next day we requested another room and were given a "standard room" which was way better, and also cheaper, in fact with the price difference we were able to stay another day.
All in all we really enjoyed the stay and would return again in the future, hopefully they will fix a few of the exisiting problems.

Jesper Won 30/08/2011 13:27A very nice traditional Italian hotel, with perfect location on the beach and a short bus trip from Capoliveri. Stayed for a week with my family and we enjoyed it very much!
disappointing
greg014on 28/07/2010 13:41I spent 12 days in this hotel with my girlfriend and my remarks are mentionned below:
+ Sea view for 50% of rooms with chairs at the beach reserved for hotel clients
+ Receptionists (women, not men) are helpful and friendly
+ Capoliveri is at 5 minutes by car and the area is very nice.
- The rooms are very small (the beds take 80% of the space available)
- The waiters / waitresses are unfriendly (they no longer want to serve you from 9:15 am, even though the breakfast is open until 10am! They only speak Italian.
- Low quality food (I cut the half-board the second day)
- Poorly maintained beach (small stones)
- TV (only GER and ITA channels) - 20cm (!!!) screen only
- No swimming pool
For a 3*, it's really too expensive. In addition, people are not very welcoming and friendly with customers. So do not go to this hotel!
The place is still nice. I advise you 2-3 places at Capoliveri 2-3 for drinking/eating: The "piccole ore" (with aperitif bar (with buffet food included with the drink) - the nice boss Alessandro will advise you on nice restaurants ("Ristorante dei Poeti", "Ristorante del triangolo pasta"). Otherwise, on the island I suggest you go through Procchio and eat at the "hotel del Golfo" (EUR 40-45 per person for a 4 course menu - one of the best meals of my life!!!
