I visited Suman Residency again. This time they gave me discount in the bill considering they charged me extra previous time. I had called them and provided the dates for which I wanted the room. Then there was a change in the dates. It was day time when I called and informed about change in dates. A lady took the info but forgot to write down or pass the info to other staff. When I reached the hotel, they were unaware of me coming. They did not have the room. But somehow they managed to provide a room to me.

We took a AC double room and it was surprisingly bigger than we expected.
The room was smelling of stale wood and the toilet was small, but for Rs2000, I wouldn't consider this good enough.
The hotel is centrally located and if you feel lazy, there is a vegetarian restaurant in the basement of the building that serves decent south-Indian food.
You cannot find this hotel on Google maps, but the address: "Near Bendorewell Junction | Kankanady - Balmatta Road, Mangalore 575002" is very accurate. The hotel is right next to Canara bank and on the main road itself.
At nights you might hear the sounds of buses or vehicles honking, but the air-conditioning is loud enough to keep you asleep.
The service is alright, but we had to ask 3-4 times to get extra pillows.
The hotel is located about 12-13kms from the airport and it takes about 30-45 minutes very early in the morning without traffic.

I am a regular guest at Suman Residency, it is my go to hotel in Mangalore. I always stay at room no 209 which is vey lucky for me. Front desk ensures that they always give me room no 209 if i inform they in advance of my booking.Excellent front desk service manned by Sandeep & co. Keep it up...

Wish I could give them a zero or may be negative. Everything was just POOR extremely poor.Dirty room, inefficient service , ants in the room, no electric iron....
On top of all this a very in efficient manager who was not willing to listen or understand.
Just a nightmare.

I have been regularly staying at this hotel from last 2 years, I have been very impressed with Mr. Sandeep from the front office team as he understands the customer needs and is very very helpful. The customer service provided by Mr. Sandeep is equivalent to 5 star hotel service however room service is very bad they take a lot of time even for coffee & tea.
