What People are saying

Senior Special Value

sabrina0608 on 28/03/2015 16:03

Mostly geared towards older seniors for Medical Prescribed MUD Baths. Food and lodging basics included. Water extra and always bottled. Even if I wanted TAP water. WIFI extra and you needed to be in lobby to have access. Shuttle PU and DROP off at Pier is Extra when you arrive or depart with luggage, but daily shuttle runs during day to downtown were free. Sundays were extra. Massages and SPA treatments were EXTRA and in 1/2 hr increments mostly. Sebastiano (massage therapist) was good and had experience but was trying too hard to sell his massages. Lots of chatting. Massages are suppose to RELAX and I felt rushed most of the time. The 3 meals a day: Breakfast was great as one has a window of time to go from 7:30-9am at your own leisure. Lots of choices and you had a wonderful coffee machine that offered a variety of choices (self-serve)At Breakfast you decided on what you wanted for the days lunch and dinner meal from a good selection of entree's and side dishes given to your table to fill out.Lunch and dinner was like "herding". There was only I serving time, therefore the "rope" opened up and everyone rushed in to serve themselves the appetizers (antipasto). Beverages of wine and water were extra. Everyone was served at the same time which was not very enjoyable. RUSHED to eat so they could clean up for dinner. We had encounters with the staff that were positive and helped our family out many times as we had elder parents who needed assistance a lot. Anna and Antonio were wonderful and we thank them!!!
Thermal baths were wonderful and helped us with Joint pain and artheritis, but make sure you bring a bathing cap (can't go in the 3 various heated pools without one) and a bathrobe, otherwise you either buy or rent them there for a daily /weekly rate.
The nightly entertainment was great for the Elderly as they had a variety of activities: Tombola (Italian Bingo), DJ, GALA NIGHT, Musicians, and lots of space for card games and board games. Again, this is a good value for the local Italians who have Medicare to pay for the majority of the Mud baths. The food was good and they had many choices. We enjoyed our stay as we were there primarily for a family reunion, but it reminded me of an Elder Care Cruise Ship type scenario.

Great winter break value for Seniors. Expensive if your not Italian and do not have Italian doctors note. Friendly staff

Stayed 2 weeks for elder family reunion.Resort term al package is catered for mostly senior citizens. If your Italian the daily mud "fanghi" treatments is paid by the Italian medical board 80%. If your an American, an American doctors note is unacceptable and unrecognizable by the State therefore be prepared to pay an extra 10 euro a day for mud treatment or 250 euro extra for Massage Spa services. The food was plentiful and delicious. Breakfast is European. Wifii is 5 euro for 2 hrs and must be seated in lobby to communicate. Shuttle bus convenient. Card games plentiful. Ginseng espresso pleasant surprise.LUCIA was absolutely superb in managing the demanding seniors appointments in SPA daily basis. SEBASTIANO and his energetic positive cheerful and professional massages were my escape! Best AYURVEDIC India oil massage in the world! ANNA the friendly, busy, hardworking housekeeper was professional, personal and understood our individual senior parents needs. ANTONIO the porter/housekeeper was the hardest working employee. Gennaro offered to replace fridge swiftly due to low temp. DAVID, PIERPAOLO,FRANCESCO at front desk were cheerful and always ready to answer any questions . The waiters IRIS, Simona, Pepino, Gennaro, Francesco & Matr'de were superb!!! PACK:your own light weight bathrobe & swimming cap. Wear light weight clothing while inside hotel it's 90 degrees due to thermal heat.

Costly and not nice!

Having perspective is very important when traveling. It is for this reason I feet that the accommodations at Hotel Terme President were terribly subpar for what you can get elsewhere in Ischia. What you need to know is that this hotel is situated next to a highway. It is dangerous to walk anywhere without facing traffic traveling at high speeds. The beaches and main port are about a half mile away so you will need to take transportation to get anywhere from this hotel. A cab runs about 15 Euro to the main port and town. Factor this in with the cost as My girlfriend and I need 3 cab rides in our 24hr stay. The WIFI costs 5 euros per person which was an additional 10 euros added to our bill. The WIFI was spotty and could only be used in the lobby. The main pool is chlorinated which means you have to wear these ridiculous caps, which is another 2.50 euro a day to rent. I felt this was totally absurd as I have a shaved head and don't even have any hair. The room itself is OK, but at $350 Euro I would expect something just slightly luxurious. Our TV didn't even work btw. The night before we had stayed in a place that was $200 Euro that was right on the water, had amazing pools, and had an amazing restaurant. Oh, we had wifi in our rooms as well. Needless to say you could tell we were extremely disappointed as this hotel was basically the equivalent of a Motel 8 with a better location. The one highlight of our stay was the very nice poolside bartender Louigi. Very charming and he makes a great cocktail. So before you book this hotel make sure you explore other options as you may want to be closer to things and have easier access to the internet.

very good and a bit costly

This hotel is the best hotel in the region and that is soemtimes shown in their rates on rooms.

All about the hotel is in order and services are ok and with a little better to be done to make it perfect ..

All in all we enjoyed our stayed, we learned that prices can be done better at arrival that over the internet...

Wouldn't go again

Me and my sister stayed there on full basis for 4 nights and 3 days. Unfortunately it rained on two of those days so there wasn't much to do. We did manage to go on a guided tour around the island which was delightful!
We arrived at 19.30 at the port and were told there is shuttle from bus station to hotel but of course it wasn't one at that time. Some very nice people from ticket office allowed us to use the phone and ring the hotel and i asked about the minibus and he said the last one was at 19.00 and next one will be at 21.00. When i asked if one can be sent for us he repeated that next one is at 21.00. So uphill with the suitcase went my sister and I. When we arrived the receptionist was not nicer and we got a room somewhere at the back of the hotel, having to exit main building and go on some narrow stairs. If you are given 416 refuse!!! It's so small you can't even call it a room, more like a long corridor with a bed and wardrobe. And when it poured rain all day we couldn't get out without getting soaking wet. Not cool.
The only good things about the room were the adjustable room temperature and the big bathroom.
Housekeeping didn't bother much with cleaning, but we didn't really needed it, although a big chunk of dust was under the bed when we arrived. When i put DND on the door they still entered the room and changed towels and forgot a rubber glove which they left for our entire stay, even if coming daily and not cleaning.
I enjoyed the food and managed to taste new dishes. It was too much though. Unless you are used to buffet breakfast, three course lunch and three course dinner it's the place for you! My sister and i are on a diet. Even if we made a deal with the waiter to get small portions we still put some weight on :))
We also enjoyed the aqua gym and the pools, very relaxing!
I was put off by the arrogant and rude receptionists and hope you guys will not get same service. But if ladies are accompanied by gents or you are an elderly woman with kids, than i'm sure you won't. Wound't go back to this particular hotel, but Ischia is amazing and worth visiting again!
