I had booked this hotel through Lonely Planet site, with a certain amount of confidence it would be decent. From the front lobby area to the actual room, everything was shabby and worn, and not clean. Our room was large, and the beds were comfortable, but the carpet was very dirty, the telephone non functional, the fridge a joke, the bathroom cramped, dirty, with a poorly flushing toilet, no towel rack. No hot water for the shower was the last straw. We found early the next morning a much nicer hotel that was also central, clean, with a lovely decor, La Orquidea. And less expensive also! I am usually generous in my reviews, but this place can only be described as a dump.

I would not recommend this hotel for a number of reasons. Firstly, you had to let the water run for 5 minutes before it was warm, and it never actually got above luke-warm. Secondly, the staff were not very helpful. At 1am I asked that the hotel do something about the loud party that they were hosting for some high school students. I was told that this was exceptional circumstances and that this did not always happen. I was angry and said that myself and the other guests were having trouble sleeping due to the loud music. The staff and manager did not care and so I would not recommend this hotel. There are plenty of other hotels in the same location, so my advice would be to go to one of them.
