Wonderful stay
Joachim Hon 05/10/2015 15:40I have been on a motorcycle trip with some friends and we accidently drove through the village of Wenns and found this Hotel. After a very warm welcome we get a Garage for our bikes and then enjoyed the Sauna. Later we have had a very delicious dinner and an absolute tasty Austrian red wine. Rooms are rally nice and clean. If back in this region we would like to come back again.
Big disapointment, still wondering where are those 4 stars
coockieon 28/04/2012 11:21We intended to book the Pitztaler Hof in Wenns for a 4 days Easter Brake, but since the hotel was full we settled for the Tschirgantblick, some 100 meters away from the Pitztaler Hof. We were tempted by the 4 stars and the swimming pool, so expectations were high. Unfortunately, the hotel turns out to be rather disappointing: the room was pretty much worn-out, with little amenities, micro 80-style television, and strangely enough, not too clean for Austrian standard (cob webs by the window, stains on the tapistery). We had half board, so the first evening we had a la carte dinner, which was nothing too special. Additionally, the dining room is pretty small to host all the guests, so it gives a bit of a claustrophobic feeling. This is also a very family orientated hotel, so expect a lot of busy children running around. Be aware that dinner is very early, around 18.30 PM.
Next day we slept a bit longer and went down for breakfast around 09.00 AM so find out they ran already out of nearly all breakfast items, leaving us with only some bread and cheese.
We had a quick look at the swimming pool, but again, too many children occupying the rather small pool. Since it was Easter, they organised a gala-dinner, where apart from the food nothing special, it took ages to be served.
As mentioned before, the parking is small and oddly organised, so be prepared to find your car blocked in the morning if you leave early.
We do not understand how the hotel gets the 4 stars ( we guess only due to the swimming pool), especially if you see the 3 star Pitztaler Hof which has a lot more services, delicious restaurant and looks much better maintained.
Positive factors was the good bed and the helpful staff at the restaurant; other staff was rather indifferent. For your next trip to Wenns, just book early and take the Pitztaler Hof, where we went often for lunch or drinks and to experience a much more Tyrolean athmosphere.
perfect stay!
MarcelDBAntwerpenon 28/12/2008 11:24It was a perfect stay, what a service we had @ the hotel. They were so friendly, we go on vacation a lot, but this was really perfect service. The hotel is clean, pretty and has a nice aqua lounge. The food was more then good. The rooms are large. Certainly a hotel you won't regret staying.

We loved the Hotel Tschirgantblick
Jane Aon 30/10/2008 16:02We have just returned from a 4 night break at the Hotel Tschirgantblick in Wenns, Austria.
I saw the hotel had a special offer advertised on the Travelzoo website so after looking at the hotels own website I booked directly over the phone. The hotel even arranged a free transfer for the four of us from Innsbruck airport and back.
The Hotel Tschirgantblick is in the lovely little town of Wenns in the Austrian Tirol. The views from the hotel are simply stunning, the mountain view was superb and the autumn colours looked amazing across the valley.
We had a warm welcome at the hotel and although I'd booked a quad room for us, 2 adults and 2 children we were told we could have 2 double rooms for the same price.
The rooms were large, comfortable and immaculately clean with a plenty of towels and even nice bathrobes to use. The rooms were cleaned and towels changed everyday.
We also had a lovely balcony with wonderful views of the mountains.
The hotel is very tastefully decorated with lots of nice areas for relaxing. It also has a fab indoor pool with lovely comfy loungers around it which were great for keeping our eye on the kids while they enjoyed the pool.
There is also a wonderful relaxing spa room with amazingly comfortable rocking lounging chairs. There's a sauna and steam room too with an enormous walk in wet room. Everything here is geared up for completely relaxing. It was just what we needed after lovely long walks and days out.
There is also a lovely garden with tables and chairs provided to make the most of the nice fresh air and wonderful scenery.
We had booked on a half-board basis. The breakfasts were great. The friendly waiting staff bring you pots of coffee, tea or hot chocolate to the table. You can also have scrambled eggs and bacon served to you and this was delicious.
There is a huge amount of choice to help yourself to from the breakfast buffet. Everything was always fresh, beautifully presented and of top quality produce. I think anyone would enjoy the breakfast here, there really was something for everyone's tastes.
The evening meals were amazing. When you are shown to your table by Bruno the lovely Maitre D' you will see how much effort has gone into the presentation of the table, everything was crisp, clean and beautifully decorated.
You can help yourself to a good choice of soft drinks with your meal (juices, iced tea or mineral water) and this was available to help yourself to throughout the day as well. A nice touch we thought.
There is a great choice of wine too, the hotel has it's own wonderful wine cellar. Bruno will always recommend a good wine to have with your meal, we drank some really good ones during our stay.
The food is a five course meal every night and everything we ate was superb. You get a choice of main meals and there's always a vegetarian option and also a great kids menu or the children can choose to eat from the main menu too.
I could be here all day describing how wonderful our meals were but suffice to say everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. We have never eaten such good quality food and had such wonderful service and we have been lucky enough to eat in some top restaurants on our travels.
The hotel even put on a special Gala dinner one night and as you can imagine no expense was spared,.It was a very special night with fantastic service from Bruno and the waiting staff and really fabulous food. We couldn't thank the chef enough, he really knows his stuff!
There is a nice lounge area in the hotel too.If you want a drink after dinner there is a very well stocked bar.
We did some lovely walks during our stay, we were very lucky as the weather was warm and sunny for most of our stay.
We also did a day trip to the Glacier. The hotel will give you info on how to get there. It couldn't have been easier. The hotel provides you with a free bus pass and the bus stop is just around the corner from the hotel. The bus was very reliable, it came right on time and was very clean. The bus takes about 50 minutes to get to the Glacier. You then buy your day pass to take you up, it was about 50 euros for 2 adults and 2 children. You go up inside the metro train which takes about 8 minutes to get up the mountain. We then took a cable car up to the top about 3,500m up and it was amazing. It's mainly skiers that use the glacier but there were a few walkers like us. We got to the top and just took in the stunning views of the Alps. The children also enjoyed a good old snow fight!
Although we don't ski from what we heard it's a very good ski run so you can bear that in mind if you are looking to be near a good place for skiing.
I know this has been a very long review but it's the 1st one on Tripadvisor for the Hotel Tschirgantblick and I wanted to give you as much info as possible. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
Finally, we would like to say a huge "Thankyou" to everyone at the Hotel Tschirgantblick especially Bruno, you were so kind and helpful and you made our stay here very special.
We wish you all good luck in running the Hotel Tschirgantblick and we will be back and we'll also be recommending it to all our family and friends back home and everyone on Tripadvisor too!
Best wishes
