Hotel Udaigarh is a product of the enterprising efforts of restoring a150 years old Haveli situated in the heart of the most romantic city nestled in the fertile valley on the eastern banks of the famous Lake Pichola. It has been restored keeping in mind the luxury of a traditional haveli with state-of-the-art amenities and a modern ethos of eco-friendly travel. While choosing us as your hotel when you are in Udaipur please bear in mind that we are located around the famous Lake Pichola in the old City and only auto rickshaw can come. The property is located very close to the main City Palace complex and one can enjoy exploring the beautiful narrow lanes of the old city, tourist shops, roof top restaurants and food joints etc. Udaigarh is a Heritage hotel due to its limitation of restoration there is no elevator, also there is no power back up, the area is recently marked and conserved for tourist heritage walk, further for your information like most of the other hotels around the lake Udaigarh also doesnt have a private parking. The local Municipal parking is located nearby. Our front office will be there to help you in this.

What People are saying

Avoid visiting with children

Vaibhav S on 22/11/2017 09:54

1) Hotel is quite good if you are not having children with you
2) Hotel staff is disrespectful and inconsiderate of the children
3) In their over zealousness to please foreign visitors hotel staff was outright rude towards the children and us (Indian guests)
4) Place is actually dangerous for children as there is no support or little support along the stairs. Some stairs have no support. My 3 yr old daughter almost fell down but the staff cudnt care less even when I pointed them to the problem. Moral : Dont visit with children
5) Rooms are quite nice and location is excellent. Very good place to visit without children
6) The world map at the reception shows Pok as part of Pakistan. They cud nt care less when pointed to
7) Breakfast is fine but dinner was bad. Ratan Vilas is right next to this place which has much better food , ambience and very reasonable prices and also serves alcohol

Great location, view from terrace, friendly staff, personalized service

We stayed at Udaigarh for 3 nights and the experience was awesome. We were skeptical if with an infant it is a good idea as compared to a service apartment, however the kitchen staff Mr Narayan and Rakesh helped with customized food for the baby. The view from rooftop restaurant is amazing. We had breakfast at the same table as cast from movie THE BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL in one of the scenes. Captain Chandraveer the owner of property helped us plan our itinerary and Mr Nikhil got us reservation on a lakeside table in a popular restaurant at short notice. There are timings for the hot water supply but they can be flexible. Also your car may not access this part of city but that's the trade off for staying at waking distance from city palace and other major attractions.

Good Hotel with Nice View

Stayed in this hotel for 1 night in Nov 2017, Staff is friendly. Clean rooms. Hotel has an rooftop bar and restaurant with beautiful view of lake pichola and the udaipur palace. Food is above average. The hotel staff was kind enough to open the roof top at 5am for photography. Thank You.

No hot water and optional room servicing

kiwinui on 06/11/2017 03:47

When you decide to call yourself a hotel there are a certain set of expectations that come with it. Having hot water is one of those expectations. I was never told when i booked or when I checked in that there are limited hot water "hours" each day. This only became evident when someone pointed me to the house rules on the back door, there, as the sixth point, after the rules around swimming costumes was the "rule" telling me about hot water hours. under that was the point saying that room servicing was on demand. However, as my phone did not work I am not sure how I was supposed to make this demand?

Overall there was little if any hotel management going on. Even in a budget setting there are things that need not happen, having an extra toilet roll available for example or cleanliness. The shower curtain was mouldy and the pillow had blood stains on it. Thank god i had a sleeping bag liner, blood stains can be a sign of bedbugs...

For the cost this was not good value and I would not recommend staying here.
