My family and I have stayed in this hotel two years running, and have enjoyed our stay each time. The hotel is ideal for those with small children who wish to ski, but would rather not take a shuttle bus to the nearest resort gear and kids in tow, because it is right on the slopes. This of course depends on the snowfall, which was scarce this year and which forced us to have to ski nearby in Montepratello; the hotel can't control the snow. The structure is from the 70's but is very well-maintained and clean. The Director, Vittorio, and his staff are welcoming, accommodating and not obtrusive. The price, of course, unless you go at high season, really can't be beat for it's proximity to Rome. Regarding its cuisine, my husband and I had the impression that the food was better this year than last year, more fresh and more thoughtfully prepared: however, last year we stayed in low season and this year in high season. We thoroughly enjoyed the meals this year. Further, the rooms are well-heated, clean and simple, but they could use a bit of a makeover, i.e., paint job, bedding, slightly larger tv; also, the wifi hardly worked for us in our room, but worked fine in all other areas of the hotel. The ski school that works in convention with the hotel, Pescocostano 3000, with its friendly and helpful staff Giulia, Hettore and Francesco, present excellent reasons to sign your kids up for ski lessons just outside your hotel's door. I would recommend this hotel to any family looking for a restful vacation in Abruzzo away form the maddening crowds.

I booked for 3 nights with my boyfriend and we had a pleasant stay :)
We opted for half board and it worth, the food was great, the staff is very friendly and the room was amazing we had a open balcony, covered outside area with mountain view. I definitely would like come back next winter!

Hotel Vallefura is situated in a perfect location. It was great for my 4 year old son to take his first snowboard lessons. The tracks are still perfect for skiers and snowboarders with more experience. The Vallefura's owner and his team are a very friendly and accommodating persons. The service is perfect and the food is great. I have already sent many friends and they all enjoyed it. I'll come back often, because even comfortable to Rome and not too crowded.

I spent with my three children and my husband four days in this hotel which is a ski resort. All the staff is very nice. The manager is very helpful. The hotel is located at five minutes (walking distance) from the slopes and it's very quiet. A typical mountain where you breathe the pure and fresh air.
Pescocostanzo (center) will remind you the village of a fairy tale. It's simply beautiful. We had one of the most delicious hot chocolate ever. It takes 10 minutes by foot to go down.
It's only two hours and fifteen minutes from Rome.

Hotel Vallefura is situated in a superb location.
It was great for my 7 year old son to take his first skiing lessons, but it also caters for experienced skiers. The owner is a very friendly and accommodating person, and I found the stuff very helpful. They gave great hints for daily excursions, away from ski slopes, how to find relevant shops etc.
I would go back for a vacation, maybe in the summer to explore the mountains.
