What People are saying

Italy off the beaten path.

ET-Greeleyon 15/06/2017 13:39

Great view with nice dining near by. About a five minute stroll to a street side restaurant. Prices were reasonable for the area...about 50 euros without drinks. Take my advise and catch a taxi or bus up the hill..it is a long steep climb. Takes about a gallon of sweat and over 30 minutes. Views are spectacular. We even got to witness a sea rescue by helicopter during dinner.

Great views, great service!

Hotel Villa Argentina was a beautiful place to stay for our time in Riomaggiore. I thought the facilities were clean and well kept, and they offered the best complementary breakfast we have had on our trip thus far.

The hotel is set on one of the hills in Riomaggiore, so if you are walking, it can feel like a bit of hike. However, we did not mind this and the views were amazing. We shared a single room, and the only thing we would change about it is that we wish we had a window that let sun light into the room. There were windows, but they faced an outside hallway. This was not the biggest deal, but good to know if you have a preference once way or another.

There was a great rooftop terrace, which made a great place to eat breakfast in the morning or relax in the evening. I would definitely recommend Hotel Villa Argentina to anyone interested in staying!

Amazing service!!!

Had breakfast here couple times and the level of customer service and warmth we received was impeccable. When we mentioned how much we loved the fig jam, little did we know we were talking to the owner who was our waiter and we found out that she actually makes pretty much everything from scratch! The next day, she had packed a small jar of it for us as a gift... who does that!?!? Thanks Giovanna!

Clean hotel good breakfast, good value , Very steep stairs

Clean room good breakfast, very steep stairs and no elevator. If you have mobility issues this is not a good choice or Riomaggiore in general. Very steep. You should stay in Monterosso.
That being said this hotel balcony offers a beautiful view of Riomaggiore and the Cinque Terre coast.

Basic Apartment

We stayed in one of the apartments which is only about halfway up the hill. We walked to the top of the hill to the hotel to check in (which is quite tiring with huge backpacks!) and were then shown back down the hill to our apartment. The apartment was quite basic but it has everything you need. We didn't use the kitchen because we wanted to try as much local food as we could (all of which was delicious!). We stayed in a two bedroom apartment which slept 4 but there was just 2 of us which meant we could use one room for our luggage. We wouldn't have wanted to stay any further up the hill as most of your time is spent near the bottom and it is very steep. Although basic it was all we needed and we would stay there again.
