I always look at the previous reviews before booking. What do you look for in a hotel when you venture abroad? I would say, a good bed, good towels, hot water and people who look after you. Let's face it, a hotel is where you lay your head at the end of the day, awaiting the adventures of the following day, not necessarily eating in the hotel every night - nothing wrong with their food but hey! get out and enjoy the local food and wine. Having said all that the Villa Giulia did not let us down - we had a comfortable bed, more than our share of really good towels and hot water whenever required - I credit Marina with this. She was a joyously cheerful person, eager to please and also improve her English. In reception Martina was endlessly patient with my halting Italian and at mealtimes Flavia was the best. Having said that, what about Andrea? I don't think he ever slept - he was the life and soul of the party in the bar and equally cheerful at breakfast. People like these are worth gold to a hotel and its reputation. There is a fantastic pool here and the hotel beach concession is great with its soft sand and kind sea - if you want to keep fit and avoid parking fees, it is only a 15 minute walk away. So did they let us down? No. Were we happy? Yes. Any complaints? Only one and it was not earth shattering - why did we run out of plain yoghourt? there is a Co-op down the road.......... Great place this very friendly staff with a nothing's too much trouble for them attitude. Food very good, pool fantastic, views impressive. Rooms comfortable, but a little faded for example bedspread had a stain, just needed a new one and a holder for a glass in the bathroom but no glass! There was a complimentary chilled bottle of wine brought to the room, which we enjoyed in our terrace garden.

The hotel was not on the beach. It is about 15 mins walk. The room we were in was quite far up from the facilities - the pool, the restaurant and the pool. We had booked 2 rooms but I got a call the day before to say that there was only one room a junior suite. It was a double bed downstairs and a double room up on a loft. They gave us half board and a bottle of sparkling wine as compensation.It was very expensive for what was offered.
눇The hotel staff were very friendly. The room was nice (even though we had booked 2 rooms) . The bathroom was good. The pool was fantastic but take care on the very slippery tiles.

It is a good option in Elba Island, although our room needs a complete renovation and the food of the restsurant was too basic and too expensive. The pool is very big and the location is quite good. The breakfast was too basic too. The staff is really nice.

Hotel Villa Giulia is located on a mountains and each guest has his own appartament. Our appartament was 2 floors room (4 sleeping places) with own balcon. Appartament is very comfortable- with own entrance, small coridor, bathroom, and enough big living/ bad room. Rooms are clean and light. In a first evening we receive a botle of champagne - very nice (we were a family with a babies, so no romantic events )
Parking is near to each appartament.
Almost in the middle of teritory in swimming pool- i dont know how much meaters, but big and also deep, so is possiable to have a wonderful swim.
Food- retorant in a teritory are located in a big terrace. Breackfast and lunch are from buffet, but for supper is one day menu. Food are very tasty- pasta and second disch are really good.
Staff- friendly and positive, and with a pleasure will "chat" with each quest.
Here is "lounch" area outside - sofas and tables.Bar also outside, so is useable also in a nigt. Some times in a week are organized partys in a local teritory- live music, humor, caraoce.
