Villa Rita at Paestum

Paestum is one of the best archaelogical sites in Italy, and the family owned and operated Villa Rita has got to be the best place to explore this exemplary place from. Merely 200m from the still extant walls of the ancient city it's impossible to get closer. The Villa Rita is a comfortable, well-run little boutique hotel with lovely gardens, pool, and photogenic grounds. The service and general ambience of the place is such that you feel you own the villa and are at home. Can't rate highly enough.
Wonderful location near train station, beach and fascinating archeolgical site.

This small hotel is a gem! The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the staff and owners are welcoming and helpful. We came to this hotel for the proximity to the train station and beach, and we found so much more to love about this place. Don't miss the excellent breakfast buffet and wonderful gourmet meals that they serve at dinner! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.
Old School Elegance.

Villa Rita is set in the most beautiful area of Paestum, in 2 acres of well maintained grounds only a stones throw from the Ancient ruins.
It has a fabulous outdoor pool with plenty of recliners, tables & chairs & shaded areas for eating outside.
The rooms are very well appointed, ours had a balcony overlooking the grounds & pool.
Inside is glorious; country house style, and has a great restaurant serving a value 4 course evening meal for 22 euro & a quaint bar well stocked with local wines.
The staff are all friendly & nothing was too much trouble to Zara, she was most helpful.
We look forward to returning next year.
A perfect location for visiting Paestum. Wonderful accommodating staff.

Kind people, beautiful property. Right next to the ruins. So low-key, yet wonderful, attentive staff. Very comfortable rooms. Easy parking. If this is a stop in-between many destinations in Italy, like it was for us, you'll appreciate the quiet, calm, and beauty of this property. Go walk along the road by the ruins and visit at sunset, at night, and then go inside during the day. Your camera will thank you.
Perfect location, excellent value

You can walk to the ruins in 5-10 minutes from here, but more fun to use the plentiful and well-maintained bicycles that are free for guests. A great advantage of being so close is that it is easy to head over to the ruins at night - they were open and lit when we were there in June and it was wonderful. The pool was refreshing. Breakfast was standard but well done. Wifi was very good, no problems. The room was basic but comfortable, with A/C that worked well. Quad is 1 double, 2 singles in a small room, as shown on the website, with a nice recently-refurbished bathroom. We did not eat dinner there but we did get a sack lunch for the road that was fresh, excellent and good value at 8 E. Rita and her father were very helpful, as were all the staff. Parking is free and on site, with some shade from tall trees.
