My Camino tour company set me up in this hotel- very average; I guess after spending a few weeks on the road, some may think it's great. But I had a bunch of low-life tourists spending time outside my room smoking cigarettes (cigarette butts all over the outside of my room) until I had to get all "New Yorker" in their face and they finally moved on...Very average - breakfast was sub-average, very difficult to find a table not cluttered with dirty dishes. I moved to the Parador Hostal Dos Reid Catholicos and had a MUCH better time: I'd give this hotel a pass if you aren't too cost conscious. Not worth it.

Hotel Virxe da Cerca exceeded my expectations with friendly hospitality, a great bar/restaurant and a peaceful room.
Morning breakfasts are delicious and the property is a tranquil refuge from the busy downtown, yet it is convenient to restaurants, shops, the wonderful market, etc.

We decided to visit Santiago on the day before and just looked for hotels online.
We found this small hotel that looked quite nice and we were not disappointed at all with the hotel.
The garden is lovely. So are the rooms and the hotel, in general.
No complaints at all.

We stayed here two nights after walking from Lisbon, Portugal, before going onto Muxia. It was cold and wet when we arrived. The hotel staff were excellent and cheerful, very efficient, showed us the room explained the hotel. The room was warm and comfortable. But it was on a side street and very, very noisy. Also we learnt at this stage it did not have an onsite restaurant, had I known this I would not have booked here. yes they do breakfast and quite a good one, and yes they a bar. But on a Sunday they do not serve any food in the bar. We had to go out into the cold, dark, wet night to get something to eat.

We loved the decor, the beautiful timber ceilings and brick walls and the friendly service. The Room was spacious, shower good and bed comfortable. And so Central to town! Couldn't fault it. They even arranged a take away breakfast for us as we had an early flight. Many thanks! They steered us to a great restaurant for dinner for our group too.
