Low-season is a good deal!
Liz Gon 30/05/2017 14:50My husband and I stayed for 5-nights in late-May and purchased a packaged that included half-board and amenities at the beach (2-chairs and an umbrella). We stayed in a "JUNIOR SUITE ELEGANCE" room that had a partial ocean view. The terrace was amazing and was by far the best part of the room. The bed was very comfortable, the sitting area was fine, and the bathroom came with a jetted tub (that we never used). The shower is a bit narrow, even for a 5'3" 120lb person like myself but it wasn't a big deal. It has good water pressure and it was hot. The room comes with a safe, small TV, desk area, and bathrobes.
The hotel rooms are a bit dated, but the common areas seem new. And everywhere is kept very clean. The wi-fi was good, not great, and drops out but comes back. There's no wi-fi at the beach at all. The daily room service was completely hit or miss, likely due to the season but they never did the same thing twice. With the exception of bringing new towels every time they came into the room.
The beach service was great! We took our voucher over on our first day and never had to show it again. The gentleman managing the area took great care to show us to our reserved umbrella and chairs, then provided us with beach towels each day. We ate lunch at the beach restaurant several times and it was great. Fast, good service and decent food!
The breakfast buffet was really good each day, except you had to order coffee or hot tea. But even that was great! They can make you whatever kind of coffee, latte macchiato, cappuccino, espresso, etc. The only knock I have on the breakfast buffet was that they fresh fruit was getting a little old on our last day and the berries had some mold.
The dining room opened for the season on the day we arrived and it was a luxurious experience. There was a new menu each day with several options for each of the four courses. Usually, when a hotel offers a great deal on half-board, I expect the food to be just so-so but the Le Settima restaurant did a great job. Clearly, the staff was still being trained but they were all very friendly and working very hard to meet every need. And they did meet every need I could come up with. The food was a bit slow (2-3hrs for dinner) but I think that's more of the style than a reflection on the ability of the chef and kitchen.
Overall, we had a great relaxing staff and if we were in the area again and could get a great deal again we would come back.
Definitely not 5* This review is from a nine yr old kids point of view
Kidspointofview2016on 29/07/2016 19:33Me and my mummy and two of our freinds one the same age as me came to this hotel and as soon we got here we found out that our rooms were nothing like what we asked for,I am not going to list all the stuff they had that we asked for and didn't get.On the first night we went to the hotels dinner place and we were the for 4 hrs there was nothing that kids the same age as me and my Freind could eat, the cooking was slow and you know how in some restaurants the give you bread , well there it's all stale. At the reception the staff are all nice except one rude lady that said I was a rude child and kept talking over us and she wasn't helpful at all.the sister hotel le Palme that is across the road offers the best service and the staff are very friendly to adults and kids. By the way , our friends have not had a full nights sleep yet since we arrived five days ago because of a fault with the air conditioning generator. They have refused to change the room without them having to pay a surcharge !! This is soo bad :(((
Good hotel
BorisNYC1on 22/07/2016 16:55Very good hotel , was staying in junior sweet , very nice professional stuff, not bad breakfast included. We are beach people but beach there dark sanded, water not clear and very bad smell(from very little shells when they die from sun). Beach umbrella and 3 chairs cost us for second row about 35 euro a day , not cheap , usually in 5 start hotel its included.
Also drinks in the hotel bar around 20 euro ! I think its a little to much. They have free WiFi with very light speed which working only next to the hotel , very slow on the pool area and not working on the beach at all !
My opinion its not worth to pay that much 2700 euro for 7 days for this hotel in this area especially for the beach !!! 1 start removed for the beach , another star for umbrella and chairs not included , and WIFI sucks .
Staff not appropriate
laurentP91on 29/05/2016 13:58We decided to take a drink at the Waldorf to have a first opinion on this hotel. When we arrived we are going directly to the bar close to the beach. 5 minute after our arrival a woman came to ask them what we are doing there ? We visit and stayed in lot of 5 stars hotel and it is really the first time we have such inappropriate reception from a staff! It is like they make them a favor to allow us to take a drink!!!! At the beginning idea was also to have a look in suite to book one for an event but the idea disappeared with this bulldog woman. Finally we will visit another 5 stars hotel on the coast!!!! Sorry to not provided information on the room but the staff not allow us to go up the end if our idea!!!!! My recommendation: to avoid!!!!!
