The service is fine but the hotel is old, has no style and the rooms are not in good condition. If you decide to go anyway, do not book it through Despegar.com because its more expensive. The spa is too basic and needs a refresh urgently!

Totally over-rated. It's too expensive for the services given and the building is not in good conditions. Rooms are old and smelly. The only good thing is the staff, they are all very educated and kind.

This medium sized hotel and spa is in a good location near the river parkland and just a few blocks from the central plaza. Rooms are clean and medium sized. The spa is good and has a selection of seating areas to enjoy the warm weather. The buffet breakfast is fairly standard but all the items were very fresh. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Good job we didn't pick this hotel because of its name, because it isn't really a spa. It has two tiny pools full of kids, surrounded by a small handful of deck chairs. But the hotel is very charming. It has a spacious court yard with plenty of rigid chairs. The hotel is located at the verge of the town, 4-5 blocks away from the central town square of Areco. The streets around the hotel are quiet and offer little noise at night time.

We spent two nights at the San Carlos Hotel and Spa in San Antonio de Areco on February 7th and 8th, 2012. The Hotel sports a wonderful pool area and spa. The hotel itself is spotless with good sized rooms which include bathroom w/ shower, cable tv, and a firm mattress. Also, a light breakfast was included with the rate. The high season tariff was around $100 U.S. Both my wife and I did have a massage while at the hotel. In recap, if you want to spend a couple days in the pampas area of Argentina, this hotel is excellent. I must mention that the town of San Antonio de Areco is truly a special place--and, it is only about 13/4 hours from Buenos Aires.
