Despite loads of reviews about how big the rooms were ours was pretty tight! Having said that, it was clean, comfortable, easy to find and in a great location. Cheap too. So perfect for discovering Badajoz

I stayed in this hotel on an overnight trip to Lisbon. To be fair, the first opinion is great, big open lobby, nice and clean... I thought I had landed the bargain of a life time.
Once I got in to the room, which was HUGE, I realised that when you started to actually look, everything was just tired and a bit grubby in places.
To be fair, the bed was comfortable, the facilities were fine. But it looks as if the hotel has had zero investment for a long time and if this continues, by next year, it will start to be messy.
Overall, I paid very little for this and it was well positioned with lots of free parking nearby. Had I paid normal rate I would have been pretty upset.

We have chosen the hotel for its location, close to the town center for a night out in our way to Lisbon. The room was clean but nothing to support the four stars, it feels a bit uncomfortable no very spacious rooms. We managed to park in the same street, it is difficult but we didn't use the parking facilities and save the charge. It was quiet when we were back after the night out and we have a good sleep. We left early in the morning, it feels it is downgrading from previous glorious.

Hotels in Spain leave a lot to be desired, and the Sercotel is a perfect example.
Staff was friendly, but the hotel is really worn, cleaning is poor and the whole place stinks unpleasantly of cleaning products.
I don't expect much of breakfast in Spanish hotels and this was right up amongst the poorest, and at 12 Euro per person it's robbery.
As has already been mentioned in another review, the underground parking is a whole.
The only thing I can say positive about this hotel is that it's well located.

The hotel is a great location to explore Badajoz. With underground parking available for €10 a day, its not bad. Be warned if staying at the weekend, the chances are there will be a party on at the hotel, and all parking spaces will be used. It took us 20 mins to park on a saturday afternoon.
On arrival, the lady on reception was friendly and honoured our request for a top floor room. We have been here before and remember that it can be noisy on the lower floors. She allocated us all on the 5th floor (top floor) and in a fantastic room complete with balcony in the corner of the hotel overlooking the river. Best hotel room there i believe.
The room was very spacious, great air con, safe (with was not working, we borrowed our friends, hotel aware but was unable to fix it). And the best of all, comfortable bed with great pilllows and duvet, and NOT blankets which are horrible. So great nights sleep had.
On the 2nd day, the hotel was hosting 4 communions. There was people and children everywhere, total mad house. And the staff were pretty stressed out. A gentleman was on reception, and when i approached him to ask a question, he ignored me for 5 mins, then when finally looked at me he was so rude. He was also very rude to my elderly mother, she was only after a glass of warm water and didnt know who to ask. I was not happy at all of his attitude, but all of the other staff were lovely.
If there are events going on in the hotel then i would suggest as a tourist stay away, ho out and enjoy badajoz, or pop over the road to the park and get yourself a drink. Its lovely over there.
For the hotel itself, when there is not anything going on, its a great comfy hotel, i will go back, just not on a weekend.
