After three attempts to get a king size bed, I was able to check in. The room was traditional Marriott. The hotel is located across the street from a light rail stop that serves downtown Houston and near all the key medical centers of the city. Rice Village a local shopping district is an easy 30 minute walk away with bars, stores and restaurants. The breakfast was quite good, with fantastic service.

I was visiting during a conference at MD Anderson. The free shuttle takes you within a 2 mile radius but everything I needed was within walking distance anyway. Every hospital and clinic you could ever need is nearby.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. They catered to my every need from advise on dry cleaning to a room change.
Room service was like take out. Came in a bag and take out containers. While tasty, it's not what I expected and there was a lot of unnecessary waste. This was in direct contradiction to the promotion to be environmentally friendly where we would've earned 500 points per day for declining housekeeping service and hanging up our towels instead of having them changed.

I was in Houston for business and our company hosted several events and meetings at this hotel. Not only is the hotel immaculate and beautifully remodeled, but every single person who works here has an immediate smile, a willingness to go the extra mile, and a great attitude. I was working from my room one morning and wanted extra coffee and cream to make a few extra cups in my room (and not have to go down to Starbucks - so convenient but I wasn't ready to head out to the meetings yet and I like to make the coffee in my room every day and didn't want to run out), and Elizabeth, the housekeeper on my floor, was just adorable. She was working on my floor, so I asked her for an extra coffee packet, and she packed a little plastic bag of extra coffee packets, creamers, extra sugar and threw in a bottle of water. At some hotels, it's a project to get something extra. The events staff for our meetings asked many times, "is there anything you need?" "is the temperature in the room comfortable?". If you needed a change quickly (like a tablecloth), it happened in an instant. The food for our buffets was delicious, the bar service staff for our event was charming and friendly to our attendees, and we felt welcome. They have a free shuttle service that will take you to Rice Village and pick you up, and they knew some of the other riders by name who had made the trip before. It's unusual to have every staff person be as nice as the next. I will also say there is faint and subtle aromatherapy to the main spaces that is delightful. Not a detail overlooked. Great hotel.

I eat at Driscoll’s restaurant pretty much every day. I find that Rosie is a fine, talented and helpful server, making my stay for lunch more enjoyable. The chef prepares an excellent daily buffet on Tuesday to Friday as well as a delicious tasting menu. Gullermo, Juju, Evelyn and the rest of the staff team make an afternoon lunch a quiet elegant affair. Dinner at Paladoras Bar and the Wednesday night live music is a mid week treat. Try it, you’ll like it.

This is a very centrally located hotel with an amazing staff. They are always ready with a smile and helpful advice. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and this is a great representation of the Marriott brand. The lobby was well laid out and comfortable, the store is well stocked with lite foods and gifts, the room service menu is the newer concept and was very good and quick. The Executive Lounge was a bit tiny but the staff there was great and the lounge was clean, the food was hot and plentiful. Overall a highly recommended hotel.
