We have recently returned from a two week holiday at the Hovimar Cosa Adeje. Firstly I would say that this is our first short haul holiday for several years and therefore we cannot make any recent comparisons. When we arrived we immediately noticed the noise from the refurbishment work being carried out at the neighbouring Iberostar Torviscas Playa hotel, which is basically a building site. We had been allocated a room on the side of the hotel overlooking the building work and immediately requested another room; fortunately the hotel staff transferred us to a room on the opposite side of the hotel. This building work is intrusive and incessant and did spoil our enjoyment of the holiday. Tui failed to properly inform us of the nature and extent of this work.
The hotel is clean, the food is excellent and in general the staff are pleasant and efficient. However the bedrooms are small, rooms and fittings are tired and the evening entertainment is mixed. On some evenings the entertainment can only be described as slapstick, but on a couple of evenings the groups were good.
Be aware that there are a number of cracked tiles on the terrace around the quiet pool area which are sharp and therefore you should wear footwear at all times.
The standard, variety and quality of the food are the strongpoints for this hotel but on balance I would research other options before considering a return.

Nice hotel with very friendly personel and good facilities. The restaurant is nice with lots and lots of choice and most tourist will we happy with it.The food however is far from exceptional; don't expect high standard Spanish food.
Our problem with this hotel is that it is very noisy. You won't hear the sound of the wind rushing through the trees. There are three sources of noise. First the hotel organizes an almost continues program of animation and there is no way to escape, except going to your room and closing the windows. The second source is two bars next to the hotel, which produce loud music till 2 or 3 in the morning. The third source is renovation activities of the adjacent hotel, inclusing the sound of pneumatic hammers and lorries. Obiously, the amount of sound depends on the position of your room. If our room is on the south or west side (next to the pool), you are in trouble.

Hi I am currently on my holidays here and have to admit that the noise from the building renovations opposite is quite loud.
Having said that we have asked to move rooms and the staff are very obliging although this will not happen until Monday.
I will write an update upon my return home in December.

My husband and I stayed at the Adult only Hovima Hotel in Costa Adeje in September for 1 week. We were pleasantly surprised as we had not stayed in this hotel before. We upgraded to the Excellence package and had a lovely room with a nice balcony which as we requested was on the 10th Floor. We had a beautiful view overlooking the Sea and the Mountains. We had read that the upgrade wasn’t worth the money but we had to disagree with the negative reports. In the upgrade we were fortunate to have reserved Sunbeds which were very comfortable. We noticed that these beds were only for upgraded persons and we observed nearly every day that people who had not upgraded were asked to vacate these sun beds. Again there was a very bad negative report saying that no-one in charge could be bothered to sort out the Sun beds we can only speak as we find and in our opinion we can state that these reports were not true.
The Restaurant was very pleasant and the food very nice. There was a speciality restaurant called The Ocean Blue which had alternative fish and meat nights. This is a must to visit. The evening entertainment was very good and we saw some brilliant shows. The staff in reception area were very friendly and were very helpful. The entertainments staff were brilliant and they kept us amused organising quizzes in the first part of evening before the main show started. The Lifeguard was a very pleasant man who took his job seriously. He could not do enough to help people and was very observant as to what was going on.
There is ongoing work being done to the Iberostar hotel which is opposite the Hovima this has been a total refurbishment and again we have read that it has spoilt people’s holidays because of it being noisy. This hotel should be completed and open for business in January 2018.
I would definitely recommend The Hovima Hotel Costa Adeje and we will be returning sooner than later for another holiday.

This is the second time we have visited this hotel, we was given room 515 which was a superior sea view room which was lovely and spacious and directly above the hotel entrance, the room was lovely and clean. We was not disturbed by the renovation work of the hotel opposite, the restaurant had a good variety of food at each mealtime but I feel the quality of some of the food (meat) was not to the same standard as when we were there last December. The hotel has had new furniture in the bar and reception area which is very nice. The location is brilliant there is so much you can do in Costa Adeje,will be returning again to this hotel for a third visit
