Linens clean but stained, bathroom door gross and covered in marks/junk. Behind the door not cleaned or swept in who knows how long. Drink spilled on walls and not cleaned, curtains dirty. Back parking lot had no lighting and sketchy people. Will not stay here again

Stranded for three days in Toronto. Limited options. Had no choice. It was Marigold hotel or the street.
Cut a long story short. Hotel is appallingly disgustingly dirty. Bares no resemblance to the advertising photos. Hotels takes money off my credit card. Lies about taking the money. Lies about making a refund. Lies about contacting their bank to make the refund. MasterCard are dealing with the matter now.
PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS HOTEL!!!!

We travel extensively and usually do a great deal of research before making a booking. On this occasion we had to make a last minute trip to Toronto and didn't have a chance to do so. What a mistake! The filth, squalor and neglect we experienced at the Marigold Hotel was shocking! The rugs were dirty, the hall smelt like weed, and we were afraid to use the elevator in case it broke down. The photos say it all. The room was so revolting that we slept fully clothed. AVOID THIS HOTEL LIKE THE PLAGUE!

This is literally the most disgusting place I have ever been to and I beg you, dear reader, please stay away! When I drove into the parking lot I was told to park in the back lot as the front one was full, and boy did I get an eyeful. This hotel offers extended stays and the tenants live in squalor. Doors were open and I witnessed what should have been an episode of hoarders; other tenants were joyfully drinking and gambling outside, and the parking lot was filthy and felt extremely insecure.
The front desk reminded me of a 2 star hotel in Cuba (I had to stay in one once) and the stench of cigarettes was repugnant. The elevator is small and filthy; you can find cigarette butts and an assortment of dirt and small garbage on the crease between the door and the lobby. Let's segue into the floor I stayed on...again, stench of cigarettes was nauseating although they claim to be a 100% smoke free property. The room door was dirty, the toilet was falling apart and stopped flushing for literally no reason; the chair had a disgusting stain, most likely caused by bodily fluids (I'll tell you why I think this in a moment), the beds were covered in small, winged insects, the covers reeked, and the table was also falling apart.
We left for a few hours and when we came back the street was closed by the cops with yellow tape all over; we went into the hotel and saw an assortment of pimps in action making deals for the evening. The same people going in and out of the hotel with different men using the elevator and going into different rooms on our floor. We couldn't take it anymore and decided to flee the place, not before asking for a refund. We were told to call back on Monday when the manager is in.
On the way out we saw a lovely lady high out of her mind on one of the lobby chairs, and when we went to the car we saw a pimp making sure his lady was doing her job inside a parked transport truck with no haul. I guess you could say they care about their girls.
I thought places like this only existed in movies and nightmares.

Went with my son. Had to change our room due to overbearing smell of weed and smoke and needle sticking out of the base of our chair! Hallways are filthy, rooms are filthy and mouldy. Sketchy people everywhere and sketchy people who live there weekly or monthly. Drive around the back and see the windows with curtains falling off most of the rooms. Staff really don't care when you complain ( and this was the first time in my life I complained about a room and had to leave!) I' ve stayed in 3 or even 2 star places in the past but this was the worst hell hole dive I've ever seen! Smelled of urine, hair in shower and on my pillow!! Oh and I almost forgot....pest control were leaving the building and driving away. Disgusting place. Over priced if it was even 20.00 a night, never mind the 113.00 they try to charge you! Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this dump.
