No Phone n Bone

The Night Auditor was efficient after a little oiling. Very accommodating and willing to meet every necessity for HoJos guest. With odds (like no phones, haphazard heating/cooling units and grandmother's 76' digital turner) he gets 5 stars.
The morning after was a bitter pill accompanied by a ill-mannered, un professional duo female nurse and male attendant bursting into quiet Haven as if mother bear had come from the market and found Goldie lying about in Hermes; with the vicious awakening declaration, "it's checkout you haven't paid for another night you have to leave!" (Verbatum... I'm still waiting to hear corporates response to this flagrant disregard for privacy, professionalism and tact.)

All I really needed was a place to leave my car while I went to a meeting in Manhattan and then spend the night before heading home. To my surprise, they only have valet parking (not mentioned on their website) and good luck finding anywhere to park your own vehicle as the hotel is dead in the middle of some kind of nexus of busy roads, an elevated train, and construction. If you're lucky, you can actually pull up to the curb long enough to get your stuff out and have them park your car.
The employees seemed very good to me. They were eager to do a good job and it showed.
The room, at first seemed fine, maybe a little oddly shaped with a tiled floor instead of the normal hotel carpeting, but fine and clean.
Sleeping however was the deal breaker for me. The TV picture is pretty abysmal although channel selection seemed decent,. The heater/ac was very loud and the room seemed drafty or poorly insulated so the thing kept turning on. There was a pipe in the wall right near the bed that kept whistling whenever someone ran water or flushed a toilet somewhere. Even with all that, I did manage to fall asleep at a normal hour but was awakened maybe a half dozen times by these various noises plus LOUD people in the hallway.
As I finally lay there in bed, wide awake at 1230pm, 1am, 2am, 230am, listening to people scream in the hallway, the persistent odor of marijuana, plus cigarette smoke, plus some kind of industrial air freshener that permeated the air gave me pause. It wasn't overwhelming but so irritating that I ultimately realized I'd never be able to sleep in that room and decided to check out very early (about 3am) and drive home, instead opting to nap in my car at rest stops on the highway.

Was very satisfied. Bad area of New York City. However hotel staff was very accommodating. Two persons specifically made my stay safe and friendly. Jimmy (Vallet/Security) and Andre(check in person). I will be staying there this Saturday and I am hoping for the same persons.
thanks

I needed a hotel for the weekend of my anniversary as quickly & cheaply as possible. This hotel came through. It was close, quiet & clean. I enjoyed my anniversary so much more because of our hotel stay.
Terrible and discussing!!

VERY MISLEADING in advertising and promotions. When we walked in a person was behind a desk with his head down appearing to be on drugs. The check-in person was very unprofessional. The room appeared to be occupied prior to our arrival with the TV running. No blankets on beds; roaches in bathroom and tub. The smell was that of a sanitation dump. I was charged before given a key and we immediately left the same night and was charged for two days that we didn't stay. We would have been afraid to leave our belonging in this place. It seemed more like a shelter than a hotel. One of the worse mistakes we ever made and will not make it again! Avoid the dump at all cost!!! Not exaggerating!! It's a dump!! We have two dogs and wouldn't take them there. Also, didn't know that this was a Wyndham hotel. VERY DISAPPOINTED!! GIVE ME MY TWO DAYS CHARGES BACK, BECAUSE WE DID NOT STAY THERE!!!
