I called Howard Johnson Inn, Washington earlier to find some information.
However, quite rudely, the receptionist informed me that there are better hotels in the Washington area and that I should not stay with them.
From there, she continued to put the phone down.
It is fair to say I didn't want to stay there anyway.

The advertisement says amenities include pool and spa, microwave in rooms etc. I booked for 5 nights at $120.00 per night for myself wife and 2 grandchildren NONREFUNDABLE. On arrival I was astonished at the poor shape the hotel was in and the children running around the property. There was no microwave in the room, there is no working icemaker in the building and there is no pool or spa. I spoke to the manager who said my deposit was non refundable go and write a complaint. Howard Johnson and Wyndham Resorts should be ashamed to have their brand name associated with such a trashy place.

We arrived at the hotel in the morning and greeted by nice old lady who gave us the room keys and told us about the breakfast hours. We took a double room. The room was clean, with no funny smell at all (i have been in other HoJo's locations and it was awful) and overall good conditions. The bathroom was clean as well as the towels. So at a first look it was a great room if you don't start to look very carefully under the bed and behind the cupboard. The breakfast was common of what you get in most of the same rating hotels. Overall it was a pleasant stay with no major cons.

I arrived around 6:00PM and the appearance from the parking lot, made my wife and our quest un-comfortable (looked sketchy). My experience during check in and check out did not make me feel that the clerk understood our conversation well. The staff did not give me that professional appearance, only some of the cleaning crew were in uniform, everyone else was in street clothes. The bushes along the street need trimmed back, you have to edge out, almost into the street, to see around them when exiting the lot.

I will keep this short. It was noisy and did not smel so good. Towls were so small i could only dry one leg. TV was so small I could not see it and the pillows were the same size as my head. The WIFI was a joke as was the breakfast.
