I have never written a review like this and when I booked was sceptical of the other negative reviews.
On arrival everything looked ok if not tired and dated. Went in room damp smelly dated dirty stained walls just awful. Drunks and druggies everywhere.
I walked straight out and went back to reception. Only saving grace was receptionist was lovely and let me use phone and agreed with booking company giving me full refund.
This is a motel for somewhat undesirables not a place for holidaymakers. Please please avoid I beg you.

I stayed there during Irma and found out(too late) that they don't even have a back up Generator...in Florida!!! unbelievable, no Breakfast on Monday and Tuesday even we had no powerfailure, no housekeeping even I found out some of the Housekeeper stay in the Hotel, I ask for Kleenex because I developed a cold, no , ask for a toothbrush I forgot mine in all the stress with the storm, no ,,,,,,,,,,,,no courtesy at all, but I had to agree for minimum of 4 days, I will never ever go there, bad management, really bad

This hotel seems to have been swamped with a number of unfair poor reviews, but of course everyone is entitled to an opinion. My three-day stay was last week and hopefully this information will help anyone who is looking for a nice, reasonably priced hotel in the area. 20 to 25 years ago this property was a Holiday Inn and was one of the most popular hotels and entertainment complexes in the area. Now, it really hasn't been updated since then and yes, the masonry of the building is dingy and carpet in the common areas is a little worn. The pool features a nifty fountain but has discoloration on the bottom that takes away from how inviting it could otherwise be. Still, families were using it during my stay and they seemed happy. With that out of the way, the room itself was clean and nice, with maid service coming in like clockwork every day at 1:00 p.m. When you reserve at the hotel, make sure to check the option where the hotel chooses your room and they will give you one of the best rooms. Yes, some of the rooms are in better condition than others as many other guests have written about. My room had two comfortable queen beds and since it was quiet I slept well. Continental breakfast consisted of three choices of fresh fruit, three different varieties of bagels or toast, yogurt in different fruit flavors, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, instant oatmeal, coffee, tea, milk, cranberry juice and apple juice plus two choices of cold cereal. Another plus is the location for the hotel. It's right at the intersection of I-4 and SR436, with Disney/Universal 20 to 30 miles southeast and Daytona/New Smyrna 50-60 miles northeast. Lesser-known attractions such as Blue Springs Park and Kelly Park/Rock Springs run are also close and Wekiva Springs is just a short jaunt away. Then there is excellent shopping at the Altamonte Mall and other stores close by. So that's a wrapup of all the good stuff. Yes, the wifi is not very good. I was unable to stream video on my tablet. The TV is a vintage '90s tube type but it worked well with a basic cable offering that did include HBO. For other travelers unfamiliar with the area, a high sign would help them find the hotel better. The front desk clerk did say that current management is considering renovations. This would mean a good hotel sign, fixing the bottom of the pool, sprucing up the exterior and updating all the carpet and tile along with the TVs in each room and a few other things. That's the good news for people choosing to stay here in the future, but then of course the room rates would jump up at least $25 to $50 per night. Currently, this is one of the best budget hotel options in the Orlando area, as long as one can overlook the weak Wi-fi, the old TV and a little tarnish on the halo. Remember, if you want immaculate appointments and everything up-to-date with a full, free breakfast you're going to pay around $100 per night no matter where you go.

This room was booked for me so I really didn't have a choice but to stay. Arrived at night & the parking area is POORLY LIGHTED as was the hallways. The rear entrance has a mildew smell when you enter the building. The room was totally 90's...big back tv, outdated furniture, curtains. The bathroom is bare minimal & the towels are rough. You have thee LITTLE (I mean LITTLE) pillows on a king size bed. Very drabby. When I discovered that it was a Howard Johnson property, I wasn't surprised as I've never seen a nice Howard Johnson hotel ever. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Room stank, tv didn't work, poor WiFi. We got a full refund and moved across the street to the Ramada which is very nice for almost the same price.
