What People are saying

Good Hotel

We stayed here for one night on our way from Puerto Vallarta to Mexico City. The Hotel is clean and the room was well set up for a wheel chair. The in room wifi worked well. The room was a little small. Has a good parking lot with 24 hour guard. The price was good. Overall it was what we were looking for, a clean, comfortable hotel located along the main road to Mexico City. I should mention that the Sunday breakfast buffet was excellent (but not free).

family short vacation

Huge resort, next to nice beautiful beach with noce pool and facilities. The resort is bit outdated, not good food in breakfast and neithe the drinks...Overpriced and packed with visitors during high seasons.

It is what it is...

Think there was a convention in town, and I couldn't book a room at Hampton Inn, the Hilton, or any of the other Business Type hotels. I recognized the name Howard Johnson so I thought... "That sounds familiar - I'll stay there".

The good. The Air Conditioning blew nice and cold. They stocked your bathroom with a couple of bottles of water.

The bad. Towels looked like they have seen years of use. You get only 2 towels, one washcloth, and one hand towel. All the towels have the quality of the worst towels you'll find in a Motel 6. Cheap and thin.

The inside of the hotel looks dated, and the entire staff had that look of tired, exhausted soul-crushed employees who just really couldn't give a damn about their job.

The breakfast buffet was difficult to navigate and to even get a cup of coffee on the bottom floor entailed paying the cashier $25 pesos for a tiny, small styrofoam cup. Most of the staff do not speak English, and they quickly tire of trying to understand their guests.

The Worse... Since the cursory inspection suggested I was checking into a slightly decrepit hotel, I took precautions. I tore the bed apart looking for guests (bed bugs) who might bother my sleep. I cleaned off a table, and proceeded to beat my pillows for a minute or so above the table to see "what shook off". Nothing did.

However... I was there for 4 nights. After I awoke from my 2nd night's sleep I found a very large cockroach twitching beside my toilet (I imagine they have to spray constantly, and this visitor must have taken a heavy dose of poison). He went into the toilet, but this is when I noticed a strange ring shaped rash on my ankle.

I had no time to worry about this, and had to get to work. When I returned from the day's business, I looked at the rash again. Bright red. Look abraded. After much internet searching: Ring Worm. A highly contagious fungus that is quite difficult to get rid of.

I'm sitting in the airport in Houston heading home right now.... Ankle burning. Relegated to the guest room when I get home until this fungal growth is gone.

Save yourself some trouble. If you travel to Guadalajara on business, Stay in a business hotel (Westin, Hilton, Marriott, etc...)

Horrible

I have waited an hour just for cereal with milk for my daughter when they told me 15 minutes. Kids and adults were playing and screaming at 12:30 night and nobody came to say something. I definitely never come back.

Iffy

Booked this hotel online through booking.com and didn't receive what I paid for. Booked a king size bed and received a full size bed. Hotel it outdated, but made to look nice. Had a layover in Guadalajara so the stay wasn't no more than 6hrs, just place to lay my head. I will say that there is exceptional customer service inside and through the airport shuttle. Great service from bell hop Ricardo. Would I stay here? No. For the price you get what you pay for. I recommend that when you book a king size they give you a king size. My wife and I shared the bed it was just small.
