HPTDC have quite a reputation of having their hotels in some of the breathtaking locations all over Himachal Pradesh and Hotel Bhagsu is no any exception to this. Located near the main road leading to the temple it is spread over a large property and has quite a number of Rooms and Cottages. Being a govt hotel it has fixed charges and booking is done online through their website. A recommended stay is in their Cottages (in which we had stayed) which are little far from the main reception area and has quite a peaceful surrounding.
Pros:
1. Location: Easily located on the main crossing of Mcleodganj. Lots of open green area to walk and play.
2. Rooms are quite big to accommodate a couple and a child and have all the basic amenities like room & water heaters, fans, kettle etc.
3. Service is as per govt standards - which is kind of Ok
4. Quite a large parking area for those who arrive by their own cars
Cons:
1. Property is quite old so need renovation
2. Quality of furniture and beds can be improved upon
3. Food is quite costly so rather stick to breakfast only - though there are multiple restaurants nearby so getting food will never be an issue
Overall if you don't have much fuss about staying in a basic hotel this is a good option for you. Similar in experience to other HPTDC hotels. Ideal for people looking for a quite hotel with some open area. Definitely recommended.

The hotel is very well situated in town and has sprawling lawns on the property to sit out and enjoy the morning tea and meals. Restaurants and cafes are all within walking distance from here. Even Dalai Lama temple is nearby.

Rooms are not spacious. Staff behaviour is good. Rooms are cleaned daily and well maintained. Staffs are very cooperative. Food quality is good. Location is very near to main market. Parking lot is available there.

Hotel Bhagsu in Hptdc deluxe hotel. Its location is calm and peaceful and there is a big garden to sit and enjoy. It is surrounded by natural beauty from all sides. The rooms are clean and nice. Staff is very friendly and service is OK. Restaurant needs renovation though food quality is good. No problem of parking. Rooms at back provide better outside view of hills. We enjoyed staying here .

Well all I can say for this place is that it's "total paisa vasul".. Great value for money. The best location that one can ask for in McLeod gang. The hotel gas small but decent clean rooms with clean toilets. It has basic amenities and clean linen and also heaters in each rooms. They too have cottages available. The food is good and a Beer Bar also available. The service was good as the staff were polite and very helpful. For instance, their kitchen closes at 10:00 pm but on our request they would pack our dinner in a hot case tiffin and kept it ready in our room.
They have lovely garden and lawns to sit out in the sun and enjoy the breakfast ao even your drinks. All this is available at very nominal rates. My suggestion is to just boom this place whenever in McLeod gang.
