Great hotel, very warm welcome and comfortable stay.
Reception staff could not have been more helpful.
Hotel restaurant is a must with very good menu and wonderful quality food. We will visit the restaurant again and would not hesitate to bring friends and recommend it to all.

The "hands on" patron and his staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. This is how a hotel should be run! The breakfasts are good and the restaurant competent. Our "superior" room was on the third floor (a lot of stairs!) at the rear so was light and quiet. We thought the bed was unnecessarily large for the size of room. The hotel is centrally located. If you are driving be sure to reserve a parking space!

The hotel combines a charming and causy environment with a friendly atmosphere from the whole team.
The restaurant in the courtyard offers fair testy and local food and can be visited without staying at the hotel. It is rare to have such type of restaurant in a hotel where you feel like being in a restaurant only.
Place to stay or to eat: Either would fit

We stayed four nights at the Hotel des Carmes over Christmas and found the staff extraordinarily friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble! We had the pool and sauna to ourselves first thing in the morning - such a treat. The en suite room was very clean and the super-kingsize bed ridiculously comfortable. A really enjoyable sejour.

This really is a gem of a hotel. We booked a one night stay travelling back from the south to Deux Severes. The hotel is centrally located and easy to find. We enquired about parking before we arrived via email and were answered quickly and in English. We were offered secure private parking for a small fee (€5) which is at the rear of the hotel. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly receptionist and we booked into a standard room (104) on the first floor. Although the view was over a flat roof it did not distract from how nice the room was for the price (€69). The bed was large (kingsize+) and very comfortable with both European square pillows and thick standard UK sized ones.
Although the room was basic it was clean and comfortable, however it would have been nice to have had tea and coffee making facilities.
My wife was particularly impressed with the quality of the hairdryer! Although the towels were on the small side. The shower was good with loads of hot water.
We used the small indoor pool, which we had to ourselves. We booked for dinner on the terrace and had an excellent meal, I particularly enjoyed the lamb cutlets and the house white wine was very nice indeed so we had a carafe!
The receptionist enquired about our onward journey and told us about a small town further north where the buildings are all built of red sandstone, which we decided to visit. It was good of her to spend time with us giving local information.
We declined the hotel breakfast (€11 per person) but found a bread and cake shop across the road that sold lovely croissant, tea and coffee for just under €7 for both of us.
Overall the hotel is lovely and we can throughly recommend it, the staff are excellent and very helpful indeed.
