I stayed in the Huntley Lodge on the third floor in a room that was almost the furthest away from the elevator. Quite a journey but the person at the desk did not mention that to me when assigning my room. Was surprised when I got there mid-afternoon that there was no restaurant in the building open before 5. Had to go to one of the other buildings. Kind of inconvenient. As was the parking lot around the back. Still it was a nice resort, staff was friendly, surroundings were beautiful and the Turkey Burger and Macaroni and Cheese at Montana Jacks (I think that was the name) was amazing - highly recommend it. I wish there was a rating between Average and Very Good. I would rate it "Good".

Jake at the front desk was wonderful and made sure I felt welcome. I was nervous as I'm new to travelling for business, was far from home, quite tired and missed my family. Upon entering my room it was clean and right next to an exit which was perfect as I traveled with a pet. Jake called within a few minutes of checking in to make sure everything was satisfactory with my room. If you want to eat at the Lodge food is a bit pricey. I highly recommend the Watermelon Salad, was amazing. I will be back in April and hope I will be able to explore a bit more.

We arrived late without a reservation. Jake Kimmel at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our room was large and comfortable. The property has all the necessary amenities. Breakfast was very good. The spa and pool are nice. I would have given the hotel a higher review but it was looking a bit tired and in need of cleaning. The hotel was going to be shut down for a few weeks two days after we arrived. I'm sure it will be spruced up in time for the winter season.

We stayed four days at Huntley Lodge while touring Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. The rates were half what it would've cost to stay near Yellowstone. Free breakfast buffet every day and I mean a great breakfast. We actually got to order off the menu one of those days for breakfast. The beds were very comfortable room was very clean, and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. I loved having the free chair lift rides and the pool was very warm and not many people in it. We will definitely come back and also recommend big sky resort to anyone in the Yellowstone area.

I preface my review by saying we have stayed in many hotels on multiple continents including North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. We only booked this hotel because we booked our vacation very late and there was nothing available closer to our destination of Yellowstone. This was hands down, the filthiest hotel I've ever stayed in. As others say, the hotel is OLD. It is very dated and we had a long walk down the hallway to our room and I honestly felt like I was in the hotel in the movie the Shining from the 70s decor and loud carpet and creaking floors. The AC is loud and the only good thing I can say is we did not experience the room noise others did. I saw the reviews and requested the top floor and I assume since it was August, it was off season and the rooms near us perhaps had no guests. To summarize the filth, we had to request toilet paper upon entering the room. We had to request decaf coffee, which then sat in the pot the remaining days of our stay. A coffee stain on the sink from early in the stay remained on the sink the entire time, as did the toothpaste in the bathroom sink and spots on the mirror along with a piece of trash on the floor. There was no cleaning or vacuuming happening our entire stay. Trash wasn't dumped one night leaving chicken in the room and then the room smelled. We continually had to request towels and toiletries in the room as the housekeeper never left enough. One day a pillow was found on the floor and considering we know the room isn't clean, that's really gross. Our dirty washcloths and towels were still in the tub one day despite the paper in the bathroom telling us to leave them in the tub when dirty. We took pictures of everything and showed them to a manager who confirmed that she also would not want to stay in a room that filthy and assured us she would see what she could do for us. We heard nothing, so when we checked out and we were asked how our stay was, we said it was bad and the front desk attendant didn't even acknowledge what we said and just checked us out. I wrote an email after we got home and a manager did call me and apologize and said they would make changes to their housekeeping practices which is all well and good, but it doesn't compensate me for staying in a filthy room. In addition, for two nights, the hallway reeked of weed, and guests smoked at the pool despite no smoking signs and hotel employees did nothing to stop them even though children were around. The amount they charge for a rundown dirty hotel is unbelievable and I would never stay there again and caution everyone else to stay away.
