We just stayed here this week and loved it. We have two kids ages 5 and 2. We liked the pool area, which had a slide, games (corn hole, mini golf, etc) and a hot tub that wasn't too hot. They had a crib available, which is crucial for us. The biggest positive I've of this resort is that it is located on the back bay, which is phenomenally better for young kids (no waves, but still has water and beach). We would stay here again!

The hotel is good but far from Town
We enjoyed our breakfast, cooked to perfection. Buffet not many options but they have an extra menu for freshly cooked breakfast which was the highlight of our stay.
We stayed near the gym and hot outdoor jacuzzi, access to gym 24 hours what more do you need when you have a toddler ! You can go at any convenient time! The hotel is slightly big and has various pools and access...
Overall I can't fault this hotel. Perhaps is slightly tired, but overall is good.
Slightly on Pricey side for what you get but it's perhaps California prices.

Where do I start? I checked in 5 hours ago and already I know I will never come back!
I have been touring California for nearly 3 weeks and this is a hotel I wish I never booked.
On arrival I found myself riding up to the entrance where you find yourself being surrounded by valet parkers. I will be in and out of this hotel various times during the day, therefore I just want to park the car myself. I'm not here to spend anytime in the resort as I have other business in the area. I was directed to the self parking area which is way out of the way and quite far to carry two fifty pound luggage bags, a vanity box and a bag with some supplies. They also don't have elevators which is even more annoying.
So apart from having to do what felt like a sweaty walk of shame with all of our luggage we were hit with absolutely ridiculous Vegas style resort fees! How is a hotel that is trying to portray itself as a high end establishment even embarrassing themselves with these disgusting fees. There is nothing worse than than being asked for extra money when you arrive to check in. They need to start adding these to the charges at the start when you book online, it's just pathetic, especially when you are not using the facilities they claim they are for. It was also obvious that I was not going to be given my room key the the staff member that checked me in. She didn't even have the decency to wear a mask in this daylight robbery.
An even bigger slap in the face came when they just swipe even more money from your credit card for "incidentals" what incidental? I already got done explaining to the person that I wasn't here to spend time in their hotel! I'm not going to visit the bar nor am I going to order room service yet they swipe 75 bucks per night you stay! It's completely shocking.
We checked our online banking while walking to the room and they had taken £180 (around $225 depending on exchange rate) and that was before I even seen the room I paid for. What is all this money for?
Finally I paid for a king bed room with balcony and view....... The view ain't great.
I wont even consider coming back here. It has left a real sour taste with me. Coming to the end of a long trip around California & Nevada and they cleaned out my girlfriends credit card and they won't give us it back until we arrive back in Britain.
Its 27 bucks a day to park your car here by the way. #disgusting
Plenty of other hotels in the area, don't stay here.

This Hyatt was beautiful, our room was nice and clean and had lovely view of Newport's back bay. The Shore Restaurant dinner was great; the bar was busy but $13 can of beer was ridiculous. Pools are wonderful!

First: The concierge, Chloe, is FABULOUS.
Now that that's out of the way, I can go on properly. Unfortunately we stayed during an unusual cold/rainy spell. But we made the best of it with great friends. Rooms ok. It definitely feels reminiscent of an older, 60s hotel in structure. Bathrooms are ok. Again... older in terms of limiting what could be done in the space available.
Solid staff. Solid food. Good overall.
