This Hyatt is steps from the performing arts theatre, and the convention center. It is only a few blocks to the baseball stadium and the basketball venue. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had an upper floor room, so our view of Phoenix was beautiful. The restaurant Compass on the 24th floor revolves for a great view of Phoenix and the food is very well prepared and service was excellent. There are 5 elevators which made things more convenient as there were quite a few events happening in the hotel and around downtown.

If you are looking to enjoy Phoenix and all that it offers this is a great hotel with easy proximity to all venues and attractions! This hotel is within walking distance of Convention center, restaurant and other area attractions.

I recently stayed with a large party at this hotel. All the staff members I interacted with were pleasant and accommodating. The 3 stars isn't due to the service, but for the rooms. Although the rooms were a little dated, I was ok with that - every towel I opened had strings and looked very worn. I stayed 4 nights, and on the last night, they finally put 2 bottles of water in the room (not free).

We hosted our daughters wedding reception at the Hyatt with a full sit down dinner for more than 250 guests. There were 2 cocktail parties as well and a beautiful Sunday brunch in the Compass room to close our special event. We were thrilled from the moment we checked in to the minute we waved goodbye.

I find that staying at the Hyatt downtown Phoenix has excellent accommodations with respect to business stay - work stations are comfortable and business center is accessible.
There's a roof top swimming area that is a fair size, nothing grand but enough to feel comfortable and private enough. The restaurant is fair..even though it's rated as a decent restaurant due to the view of the city (Compass)
