Food, all staff, animation team and location which was quiet at that time, absolutely fantastic! The only disappointment.....we ordered a breakfast for the last day as we were leaving very early......I was sent into the restaurant but no one responded despite me asking! Eventually, after standing for 10 mins, I left as the transfer was due......without the breakfast!
Lovely winter break

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly and always welcoming. Rooms were spotless clean. Swimming pool georgeous with lots of sunbeds available all day long. Beach was stunning and brilliant for long walks. There were a few large jellyfish washed up on the beach which did put me off of going into the sea. Restaurant was clean and a good variety of food. The floor was a bit slippery sometimes. Snacks available all day. Just be aware the local area is mostly closed at this time of year.
Great family holiday.

We have just returned home from a weeks stay in this beautiful hotel. I had never gone to Spain before, simply due to all the negative reports in the past. After visiting this hotel I have changed my opinion. On arrival at the reception area we were greeted with champagne and a speedy check in process, our room was easy to find and on the bed was a towel swan with a small bottle of cava and a flower, a lovely message of welcome on the bathroom mirror added a special touch, its the little things that make you feel welcome, the space was roomy, and spotlessly clean, plenty of space for clothes and a complimentary room safe, the view from our balcony had the sea to the left of us and the marshes to the right. We had arrived late afternoon on an overcast sky,but in time for dinner.Again greeted at the door by the manageress who offered us a glass of sangria, (again a first for me) the buffet on offer was superb, anyone who says they cant find anything to eat here is someone who is extremely fussy or simply not at the same hotel we were at. Everyones tastes were catered for, including gluten free products. Our first breakfast was a little daunting as we were unsure about getting drinks etc. but a lovely lady called Louisa showed me how to operate the machines(all in Spanish naturally) Louisa has become very dear to me, a true asset to the staff and hotel, ALL the staff in this hotel are eager to serve, always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. we were all inclusive, and, at hotels in the past we found some lunch menus repeated in the evenings, but not here,, aside from pasta(every day) you could look forward to something different each time. no point me going through a menu something for everyone. Breakfast naturally were generally always the same, although with different types of sausage on different mornings, I did hear a couple of people complain there were no *british* sausages,,but lets face it youre in Spain ,it didnt bother us because there were plenty of alternatives.. Being a pension age couple we wanted peace and quiet and thats exactly what we got, there was evening entertainment which we enjoyed, and a good mix, Belly Dancers, solo singers, flamenco dancers and a great Abba tribute band, all in all a good time. A great bus service takes you to Ayamonte ,,and further, and the hotel ( or your rep) can organise trips if you so wish. the beach, a short walk from the hotel along a wooden bridge is beautiful and unspoiled, sadly the beach cafe had closed for the season during our stay but i'm told its wonderful. The marina is beautiful also, a short walk from our hotel, you can find many boat tours to Portugal and around the islands, we did take one to Isla Christina, it was ok, a typical fishing village. but still nice to see. The swimming pool is massive and surrounded by enough sun beds for everyone! The pool bar is always busy and at certain times of the day serve snacks etc, the cocktails are wonderful, my husband and I rarely drink, but there are alcohol free cocktails on offer. If I had a niggle about the place,(and its minor) that would be slip mats in the bathrooms,,,a lot of older people stay here and I found using the shower a little daunting, I am not always steady on my feet and although theres a safety bar on the wall, i found getting out of the overbath shower a little slippery. the other niggle, which is NOT the fault of the hotel,,are the number of children allowed to run freely around the entertainment room at night,,,,,during a break of performers children were climbing onto the stage, touching equipment and I really expected a child to get hurt or topple speakers, no doubt expensive, belonging to the performers. I have nothing against kids having fun but some parents need to keep a better eye on them instead of attention to phones, etc, Other than that, there is nothing to complain about this hotel ,,its a wonderful place and no hotel is wonderful without the amazing staff who run the place, clean the rooms, serve your wine and generally make you feel special and welcome. Thank you to all of them, especially Mi Amiga, Louisa.
Great hotel

We stayed here for 2 weeks and had a great time. The hotel is well kept, very clean and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. I cannot single anyone out and say they were good on here as they were all fantastic. The food is amazing, a great selection of choice, well presented. The whole place was great. Isla canela itself is quiet but that's what we like. I will definitely return. The entertainment team were great we do not normally go in for all that but we even we joined In this time. Thank you Iberostar for a great holiday, keep up the great work.
