Till now I was a fan of the IBIS chain of hotels. They offer nice clean rooms, in a good location (either close to an airport or close to work), no frills and no nonsense service with decent food at a great price. IBIS Schipol however was a disappointment.
Location: This hotel has no business calling itself IBIS Schipol Airport hotel. Its a 30 minute bus ride away from the city and boy what a bus ride it is. If you are a Business traveler you better pack your suits and jackets away and ride in your pajamas. You are about to be put in the wringer, crammed in with passengers from 3 hotels in a single bus at any time of night of day. Neither is the hotel close to the city. It took us 50 minutes by public transport to get to the city. And if it happens to rain like it did when I was there, God help you.
Rooms: I arrived at the hotel at noon and was told that since my room was a premium 3 person room, it would take time to be ready. Despite my pragmatic self, i got excited. The third bed turned out to be a pull out sofa that might suffice as a bed if you are Tyrion Lannister. The room was marginally bigger than the usual IBIS room at the end of a long hallway (Which was also advertised as part of the premium experience). What a colossal disappointment and waste of money.
Food: This was my first ever experience with a restaurant menu that was so morose and insipid that it killed my appetite. Even a dictionary could describe food more colorfully. Thankfully they had a fully stocked assortment of microwave dinners in the front lobby. I have to say that this was the only saving grace of IBIS Schipol. It had a good selection of Asian and Italian dinners. They also had a good selection of Ben and Jerry ice cream, so I guess I can forgive them for the food debacle. There is also a free coffee machine that has coffee and tea and hot chocolate which i found very convenient. I just wished they stocked up on sugar.
Overall, don't get fooled by the advertising hype. This hotel offers nice clean rooms with decent service and an adventurous commute to the airport. Remember to pack your jammies.

This hotel is convenient to both the airport and a major bus station. The staff is extremely pleasant, professional and efficient. We stayed here two nights and then headed south to Normandy, France. We were able to securely leave our two larger suitcases here to be picked up after our 5 days away.
The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the diner a fun place to eat, and the dining room had an interesting but repetitive menu.

Hotel location near the airport is good for persons transiting western Europe via Schiphol Airport. The shuttle bus service to the airport was convenient, although the hotel was further from the airport than anticipated. The rooms were small and the beds average for comfort. The hallways were 'tired'. The gym area was small but well equipped. The breakfast buffet was very good.

The hotel is centrally located which is the only good part. Apart from that, the rooms are pretty small with very poor ventilation. The room had literally a non working air conditioner. Not good for people looking for space. Decent beds, tiny toilets & average food availability.

Easy booking, efficient reception, then off to find your room in what is a huge hotel with an incredible amount of rooms (logical as perfect to step off or back on the plane in Schipholl).
Room slightly noisy with corridor noises, and the entrance has a place to have drinks which, at 0600 in the morning, showed the reasons for the noisy corridors as empty wine and beer bottles were on most tables....
