I stayed a the Ibis Budget at Amsterdam Airport for a weekend break; much cheaper than Amsterdam city centre hotels (which I have done before anyway.) There's a free shuttle bus to the airport/ Schiphol Railway station, running roughly every 20 mins. From the Schiphol train station it's possible to get to Amsterdam city centre in about 15 minutes (also to many other towns.) So it worked well for me as a base. This hotel also is very conveniently located as a cheap airport stop over between flights; I've done this on previous stays.
I found the room comfortable & bigger than some other cheaper hotels (but this is a budget hotel, so don't expect plush comfort!) There was a double bed (fairly firm), with a single bed above accessed by a ladder. The wash basin was in the room, with a shower and toilet in separate small 'pods'. In keeping with the budget brand, there were small bars of soap rather than shower gel.
The only minus for me was the sound of an extractor fan (or some similar continual generator noise), as this bothered me at night, even with ear plugs.
Breakfast is adequate, a choice of hot and cold drinks, croissants, decent bread rolls and toast, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, jam etc. The rooms don't have tea and coffee making facilities but there is a machine in the lobby with hot drinks for a euro.
There's no restaurant for lunch or dinner but it's a short walk to the on-site Ibis, which has a shop, takeaway options, bar and a couple of places to eat. I had a great dinner in the Ibis restaurant on my first night.

I spent some very nice days in Ibis Budget Amsterdam Airport. I really recommend this hotel. Transportation to the hotel is very well organized, staff friendly, rooms clean, easy access to the city center.

Start with very bad check in experience and we need to wait for the room, after that the room was so dirty and damp in the wall I even took photos, after that very bad check out because we couldn’t even leave our suite case until we fly, it was the first time in my life that a guest can’t leave the suite case until they fly, it missed up our day, the problem was that they lied to us because at the check in they were happy to store our suit case just because we waited, but now we are leaving it is ok to completed destroy our last day in Amsterdam:( never again

I stayed at the hotel during a nine-hour daytime layover at Schiphol. The room was small, but definitely adequate for a short stay. It was also very clean. My only complaint has to do with the shuttle service - in both directions. The wait at the airport was quite long, and from the hotel back to the airport, the shuttle did not arrive at the scheduled time and was about 15-20 minutes late.

Great. It was all that I was expecting for...when I arrived at Amsterdam. Room was ok, particularly quiet as I needed after along trip, left behind. Besides, great to reach the Hotel using the shuttle Service, available at the Airport...
I enjoyed also the breakfast in the morning before leaving the Hotel...heading Nymegen for an important Meeting...
It has been all fine at IBIS Budget at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
I recommend Ibis Budget...
