I wanted to be in the Novotel but this hotel is under renovation at this moment. The Ibis is also renovating their roof. Amainities from Novotel not to be used, so no swimming pool, no fitness and no restaurant from Novotel available. The rooms of Ibis are very small no place for working. It is quit but the dining bufet and breakfast bufet are limited so for a stay of 3 weeks went to another hotel. By the way i liked to stay there earlier and will go back after renovation.

If you are looking for a swimming pool and a gym these you will not find here. The rooms are very small and with awkward furniture placements making them even smaller.
Breakfast quite basic below Ibis standards. However the staff is top shelf very helpful, good internet, nice area to eat and a lunch buffet served is recommended .

Good hotel near to airport n beach. Ibis Cotonou offers comfortable stay, everything is just a replica of European model, price-wise/value for money-wise the hotel is costly and makes not a preferred option for budget travelers. With my experience I would like to suggest not to try the hotel dinning which offers very few and not so tasty options, dinning in neighboring Novotel could be an option. However Ibis offers nice blend of African + European breakfast.

On my first night I order 'Gnocchi, chicken and seasonal vegetables' from the Ibis kitchen - what I got was three measly pieces of dry chicken on a bed of dry rice, with not a vegetable in site. When I queried this I got a very short 'that is Risotto' from a sulky waiter.
The menu incorrectly translate 'Rissoto' from the French to 'Gnocchi' in English - two very different dishes... irrespective of that error, what I got wasn't risotto either - just dry rice, no vegetables, no sauce and three bits of chicken on top.

The hotel is conveniently located between the foreign Embassies, the sandy beaches, the city airport and the main shopping mall, so everything is easily reachable within a few minutes. The best however are the staff members, they are all so warmhearted and genuinely friendly! A special thanks to Perpétue, Eurydice and Mireille, who are always taking care of your wishes and anticipating your needs, making feeling you welcome 24 hs a day!
