Easy walk to Southern Cross Station so easy access to airport and suburbs. within walking distance of all of the sights of the city. Food options all around. Hotel being renovated and with all Ibis hotels things are basic but includes all that you need. Continental breakfast included and cooked breakfast also available at a cost. No room service but its not needed. Renovated rooms are great, unrenovated rooms are still fine. Staff are friendly and helpful.

The rooms are clean and decent for the price and it's conveniently located in the heart of the CBD with only a short walk to Southbank and the main restaurant & shopping locations. Close to tram lines and a 2 minute walk from Southern Cross station. Breakfast is average and didn't get what I asked for... Otherwise fantastic.

In Melbourne for a conference, the location of this hotel was fantastic. The service from staff was good most of the time.
The room was a completely different matter, the only windows in the room had been painted so there was no chance of seeing outside. The room itself was tiny, and the 2 built in heating/cooling options were not functioning which I am guessing was why there was also an oil heater in the room. This heater was also malfunctioning as it continually heated no matter what setting it was on, resulting in waking in the middle of the night in a sweat or freezing. The bathroom was tiny and the shower screen jammed whilst I was in it meaning I had to dilettantism it just to get out of the shower. I needed to use the desk to work and unfortunately this was completely taken up by the TV meaning I had to use it on my lap. Lastly the door lock malfunctioned on several occasions resulting in the need to have multiple keys created and finally only being able to get into the room with help of the staff with a master key.
I would not recommend.

We have stayed here several times and have always enjoyed our visits. The hotel is only one block from Southern Cross Station. The hotel is between Bourke and Collins Streets. Trams run along both of these streets so transport is close.

Easy walk from Southern Cross Station. Very old building currently being refurbished. Ibis hotels tend to be quite basic but you have everything that you need. Bed and bedding was great and surprisingly my room was extremely quiet. Staff were fantastic, arrived on my own with some family members joining the next night but they gave me the family room anyway so l would not have to move.
