Chose this hotel for close proximity to CBD for a conference, absolutely ideal. Booking in very easy all organized, room for one night ideal with all amenities , TV , aircon, windows that open and good shower. Very quiet, slept well. Breakfast on site, all you would want for a hearty breakfast, service very good. Booking out same as in, no problems.

I stayed at Ibis Styles Victoria Hotel years ago and recently stayed again for a few nights. I still think this hotel is great value for money with a fantastic location. Room was clean and sufficient for us. Comfortable bed, good en-suite and good air conditioner. Will definitely stay here again.

Ibis Style Melbourne is centrally located on Little Collins, walking distance to all major city attractions.
it's a leisurely 15 min stroll to Southern Cross Station (Airport Skybus, Greyhound and trains to rural / country destinations)

Ibis Styles Melbourne (the old Victoria Hotel) is a clean, comfortable hotel. The only thing that I could comment, is perhaps the noisiness of the aircond unit. It didn't really bother me, as I was exhausted from exploring the city. However if you are a light sleeper, the gentle hum of aircond COULD potentially you.

I stayed for three nights this time, after having stayed there previously, and this time paid for the room in advance.
I had requested - several months ahead of my stay for the same room I had stayed in previously, not a very difficult request to grant, given the few months' notice, you would think, but no; I was placed on a different floor, and my travelling companion, who had requested a room nearby, was at least on the same floor but a considerable distance away.
The next problem arose when I had one drink at the bar; just one drink. I had given the hotel a credit card number just in case, and had spent a miserable $6.20, putting that on my account. In order to expedite my departure on day four I went to the front desk on day 3 and - as I thought - organised payment with a pleasant person who assured me that all was sorted, and that the manager would contact me otherwise. So far as I knew I had paid for that drink.
But no. I did not need to do so, but I approached the desk on the final day, only to find that absolutely nothing had been done - and not only had nothing been done despite my specific attendance the day before in order to ensure that the payment had been made - but I encountered one of those people on staff who seems to enjoy giving patrons a hard time. A person clearly in the wrong job, but one could make a case for its being the fault of the colleague the day before.
The moral of the story is: don't give these fools your credit card number at check-in, because they do not know how to process it. Pay for your drinks, coffee, or breakfast as you go.
Their employees are not very bright.

Located on the heart of Melbourne, the Victoria Hotel is within easy walking distance to most attractions and the shopping precinct. Clean, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. As a frequent traveller to a Melbourne, I choose to stay at this hotel every time.
